Biden Targets FFLs

The Justice Department will announce a new “zero tolerance” policy to revoke the federal licenses of firearms dealers who willfully violate gun laws, senior administration officials said. That includes actions such as selling a gun to someone who is prohibited from possessing one, failing to do a background check on gun purchasers or falsifying records.

If You Need A Job, The Gun Industry Is Hiring

From Forbes:

Gun companies have been hiring thousands of workers throughout the coronavirus pandemic, riding an unprecedented swell in gun sales and bucking a steep overall decline in manufacturing employment in the U.S.

The publicly traded leaders in the industry said they’ve ramped up hiring during the pandemic to try and meet the record demand for guns and ammunition, which has outstripped the industry’s manufacturing capacity.

The Ammo Shortage Could Last Another 2 Years

From The Reload:

As store shelves lie barren and prices for the most popular ammunition hover at two, three, or even five times their pre-pandemic levels, manufacturers said they are still scrambling to bring enough product to market. They said they are still working through several years’ worth of orders that have already been placed.

“On certain products, we are certainly seeing backlogs that stretch out two years and beyond,” Brett Flaugher, president of Winchester Ammunition, told The Reload. “For those who shoot 9mm and 5.56 ammunition, which are both in high demand, it’s very uncertain how long it will be before people will consistently have ammunition readily available.”

Why Gun Control Is Doomed

From 19fortyfive:

Liberals across the country as well as Democratic lawmakers only see the negatives with the increase in firearm ownership. They see more guns used in violent acts, but the fact is that even as gun sales have hit record numbers – showing no signs of slowing down – that crime hasn’t kept pace. Moreover, in the past twenty years as crime has gone down, the number of guns in private hands has gone up.

Biden Gets “Mostly False” Rating From Politifact

From HotAir:

PolitiFact focuses only on one of those falsehoods — the hoary “gun show loophole” that never existed in the first place. Democratic politicians have tried making the same claim for years if not decades, but it’s a flat-out lie:

“These bills, one, require background checks for anyone purchasing a gun at a gun show or an online sale,” Biden said at the April 8 event. “Most people don’t know it, you walk into a store and you buy a gun, you have a background check. But you go to a gun show, you can buy whatever you want, and no background check.”

When it comes to background checks for gun purchases, what matters is who sells the guns, not where the guns are sold — and when a federally licensed seller is a vendor at a gun show, they have to run a background check just as they would if they were back at a bricks-and-mortar gun store.

The Lies About Guns vs Voting

From Reason:

Sen. Alex Padilla (D–Calif.) recently claimed that it is easier in some states to acquire a rifle than it is to cast a ballot. This false claim ignores the reality of gun control in America. Despite widespread misconceptions held by gun control advocates, guns are the most heavily regulated consumer good in the country. Millions of Americans are federally prohibited from not only possessing a gun for even a fleeting moment, but also from possessing even a single bullet.

Whether it be the rise in civil unrest throughout our nation’s cities, the Jan 6 attack on the US Capitol, or simply just for pleasure, Americans flocked to gun stores after receiving the first round of stimulus checks in 2020.
