Removing Self Defense Isn’t Caring

From Bearing Arms:

Gun control isn’t “caring” or “valuing” citizens. It’s treating them like children who can’t be trusted with a toy because someone else did something wrong.
Stop pretending like you have my best interests at heart. You don’t. You want to turn people like me and me into criminals so you can feel better about yourself so that you can feel morally superior, but I refuse to roll over and allow it.

“You’re just taking guns out of law-abiding citizen’s hands,” Lea County Sheriff Corey Helton. “This is not going to affect the criminals out there. They’re going to be able to get guns and they do not follow the law.”

NJ Created New Felons With Magazine Ban

From Reason:

How many of New Jersey’s 1 million or so gun owners have complied with the ban by turning LCMs in to law enforcement agencies? Approximately zero, judging from an investigation by Ammoland writer John Crump. Crump, an NRA instructor and gun rights activist, “reached out to several local police departments in New Jersey” and found that “none had a single report of magazines turned over.” He also contacted the New Jersey State Police, which has not officially responded to his inquiry. But “two sources from within the State Police,” speaking on condition of anonymity, said “they both do not know of any magazines turned over to their agency and doubted that any were turned in.”

The War On Gun Culture

From Bearing Arms:

However, maybe it is time that we spend a bit more time declaring our allegiance to the Second Amendment publicly. I’m not talking about telling your friends you support it, either. I suspect the average Bearing Arms reader’s friends and family are already aware.

No, I’m talking about wearing pro-Second Amendment clothing, brands, and other such items. Wearing a Glock ball cap while wearing a snarky pro-gun shirt will signal to people that you support the Second Amendment. If people see it enough, they’ll come to understand that we’re all around them and represent no threat. We’ve always been there, and we’ve never been a threat.

From Fox News:

Art Bouvier is giving the next person who tries to rob his Indianapolis Cajun-style eatery something to think about – by dangling a 25 percent discount for pistol-packing patrons.

After a man claiming to have a gun robbed Papa Roux Saturday night, the New Orleans native announced that customers with a valid a concealed handgun permit will get a quarter off their tab. Bouvier told FoxNews.com he hopes it will send a strong signal that it’s a bad idea to pull a gun with bad intentions in his restaurant.

How The Government Prevents Citizens From Protecting Themselves

From PennLive:

But a serious problem not receiving attention is the issue of law-abiding citizens being prosecuted for failing to realize an action or misdemeanor conviction years ago bars them from owning firearms under federal law.

Our government’s attempt to keep guns out of the hands of people with criminal, mental health and drug histories is a worthy goal.

In practice, however, the effort has led to an unfair and overly complicated federal government application to purchase firearms.
