Gun Control Is War On Poor

From National Interest:

Gun owners would have two choices: either surrender their property to the government or pay a $200 tax to keep each item, which will be added to a national registry. For many people, this would quickly turn into thousands of dollars paid to keep their own property. A hunter, for example, with just one AR-15 and four standard capacity magazines would owe the federal government $1,000. Failure to comply could mean up to ten years in federal prison and a $10,000 fine.

Magazine Confiscation Divides Circuit Courts

From Reason:

California and New Jersey have enacted laws to confiscate firearms magazines holding more than 10 rounds. On Aug. 14, a 2-1 panel of the Ninth Circuit ruled California’s confiscation unconstitutional, in Duncan v. Becerra. The Third Circuit, Sept. 1, upheld by 2-1 confiscation in New Jersey in Association of New Jersey Rifle and Pistol Clubs Inc v. Attorney General New Jersey (NJ Rifle II). In combination, Duncan and NJ Rifle II cases provide a good view of the state of the Second Amendment argument today.

Recoil Magazine Removed From Kroger

From Recoil:

We think we put out some of the most kick-ass content in the gun world, so having an Arugula pusher look over our shoulders while we write and design it, didn’t exactly sit well. So when faced with the choice of bowing to the corporate overlords or being left off the shelves, our answer was a full-throated ‘fuck you’. We’d rather take a hit to our bottom line than bend the knee.

Judge Upholds San Francisco Magazine Ban

From Guns.com:

“The judge’s ruling completely flies in the face of what the Heller case says, “said Michel. “The Heller case said that the handguns at issue were protected because they were commonly used by law abiding citizens for self-defense. The judge in San Francisco seized on the word ‘used’ to say that magazines were holding more than ten rounds were hardly ever used for self-defense i.e. people never fired more than ten rounds, they weren’t protected.”

Obama Administration to Purchase 600,000 AK Magazines

It hasn’t been that long since the President called for the ban of magazines capable of holding more than 10 rounds. Now the military is set to purchase almost 600,000 AK magazines to be sent to Afghanistan. He is comfortable with the military using those magazines to kill people but it completely against an American civilian having one to defend themselves.

From The Washington Examiner:

Army officials told Secrets that the 30-round magazines, which would be banned under Obama’s gun control proposals, are going to Afghanistan. But unlike the Pentagon’s controversial purchase of Russian helicopters for Afghan special forces, the Soviet-Russian-styled AK-47 magazines are likely to be purchased from an American firm.

Magpul Threatens To Leave Colorado If New Gun Laws Pass

Magpul has stated that should new Colorado gun laws pass, Magpul will leave the state taking all their tax money and business with them. Here is part of the letter:

In short, Magpul would be unable to remain in business as a CO company, and the over 200 jobs for direct employees and nearly 700 jobs at our subcontractors and suppliers would pick up and leave CO. Due to the structure of our operations, this would be entirely possible, hopefully without significant disruption to production.

The legislators drafting these measures do so in spite of the fact that nothing they are proposing will do anything to even marginally improve public safety in CO, and in fact, will leave law-abiding CO residents less able to defend themselves, strip away rights and property from residents who have done nothing wrong, and send nearly 1000 jobs and millions in tax revenue out of the state.

We like CO, we want to continue to operate in CO, but most of all, we want CO to remain FREE.
