Georgia Law Enforcement That Burned Baby, Killed Pastor in 2009

From The Washington Post:

In the burned toddler raid, Terrell told the paper that District Attorney Brian Rickman had already cleared the task force of any wrongdoing. That’s a remarkably fast investigation given that the raid happened less than two days ago. Rickman also cleared the cops in the Ayers case. So did the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Rickman would tell a local paper that the investigations went “to extraordinary lengths,” and, “I do not see how anybody could say the process was unfair based on the lengths that they went to.”

No-Nnock Warrant Results In Death Of Officer

From Western Center for Journalism:

On December 19th, a sheriff’s deputy was shot and killed during an attempt to serve a “no knock” warrant near Sommerville, Texas. Just before 6:00 A.M. an 8 member SWAT team broke through the door of Henry Goedrich Magee to serve a warrant which would permit the team to search the mobile home in which Magee and his pregnant girlfriend were living.

How many more police officers have to die before we stop these stupid raids?

Civilians 29 Times More Likely to be Killed by Police Than Terrorism

From The Free Thought Project:

What went wrong? In the 19070’s SWAT teams were estimated to be used just a few hundred times per year, now we are looking at over 40,000 military style “knock and announce” police raids a year.

Police Obtaining Military Armored Vehicles

Guns.com reports that Orange County SWAT has received a new armored vehicle from Lenco. They say that it can stop .50 caliber rounds and countless hits from smaller rounds. My only question is, why does Orange County need such a heavily armored car when California has banned .50 caliber rifles and no one in the state is allowed to purchase a magazine for a rifle that holds more than ten rounds? If .50 caliber rifles have been banned the police shouldn’t need protection from them, right? Or maybe it is the case that laws don’t solve problems, they just create more of them.
