Texas Rallies Around Gun Dealer Targeted By ATF

From Ammoland:

A story published last month revealed that Harris was the latest home-based gun dealer to be targeted by the ATF. Harris and others say the ATF chose to harass and intimidate home-based dealers into voluntarily surrendering their FFLs because they know most lack the financial resources to mount a legal defense and fight back.

“The ATF didn’t follow their own protocols,” Harris said. “Now, they’re making up allegations.”

One of Harris’ longtime customers created a GiveSendGo account, which has raised nearly $20,000, although Harris will likely need much more.

Texas Requires Armed Security At ALL Public Schools By 2024

From Ammoland:

In the American colonial days, several colonies required colonists to be armed for public safety. Texas, in a statute designed to reduce the risk of mass murder at public schools, will require armed security at public schools starting next year. Texas bill HB3 passed in 2023. It requires an armed security officer at all Texas public schools K-12 starting in 2024.

Texas Car Owners Shoot Thieves

From Bearing Arms:

This isn’t the first defensive gun use we’ve covered recently involving nearly identical situations. In fact, it’s not even the first story of this kind from San Antonio. A similar incident took place back in April when the owner of a stolen truck used his Apple AirTag to track down its location, only to be fired upon by the suspected car thief.

Another similar situation played out in Harris County, Texas just hours before the defensive gun use in San Antonio, where authorities say another suspected car thief was shot and killed by the rightful owner early Thursday morning.

DC Police Open Office In Texas

From Texas Nationalist Movement:

The recent announcement by the U.S. Capitol Police to open regional field offices across the country, including in Texas, is a stark reminder of the overreach of federal power and the urgent need for Texas independence. The Texas Nationalist Movement strongly condemns this blatant disregard for state sovereignty.

TX Federal Court Says Frames Are Not Firearms

From Ammoland:

The order does not accept the argument that the ATF can change the definition of a firearm without congressional approval. The order shows Congress could have used the language the ATF now prefers, but Congress did not.

Gun Store Owner Audited By ATF After Suing Them

From The Truth About Guns:

If you’re an individual who’s suing a federal regulatory agency and that agency then knocks on your door to conduct an audit of your business operations, is it reasonable to conclude that the two events are connected? Would it be fair to suspect the agency of trying to harass the plaintiff who’s been challenging their rulemaking…and winning?

That’s exactly what’s happened to Michael Cargill who owns Central Texas Gun Works in south Austin. Cargill was the plaintiff in the eponymous Cargill v. Garland bump stock case. Cargill won that Fifth Circuit battle resulting in bump stocks currently being legal in the states of Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas.

Two Mass Murders, But The Media Only Cares About One

From The Truth About Guns:

The story is already disappearing from legacy media newscasts and websites. There were no protests, marches or calls to ban Range Rovers or other SUVs. No one filed suit against Land Rover or organized a boycott. No one from the White House went blood-dancing at the scene. The 24-7 coverage that normally follows a mass killing involving a firearm never materialized, because as horrific as it was, the Brownsville killings did not fit the legacy media’s mass-murder narrative, for several reasons.

Citizens Who Have Stopped Public Shooters

From Reason.com:

I had written about this in past years, but I thought I’d update it to reflect the El Paso incident from last week. According to the El Paso Police Department (see also CNN [Andy Rose]), a confrontation between two groups of teenagers at a mall “escalated into a physical fight” and then into a 16-year-old fatally shooting a member of the other group and seriously wounding another member, as well as injuring a member of his own group. Then,

As soon as the shooting ended, the 16-year-old suspect began to run and was pointing the gun towards the direction of bystanders, including 32-year-old Emanuel Duran, a Licensed to Carry Holder. As the suspect ran towards Duran and bystanders, Duran drew his handgun and shot the suspect.

Texas To Stop Business With Citigroup Over ESG, Gun Rights

From Bearing Arms:

Citigroup says it’s doing everything right, but Texas says it’s not.

However, in a statement, the NSSF notes that Citigroup’s own website tells a completely different story.

“Their own website, however, demonstrates that the corporate bank refuses business with firearm businesses that do not comply with their unconstitutional restrictions,” the statement reads, noting that the bank requires things such as bump stock bans, age-based restrictions, and magazine restrictions.
