Holosun Introduces Night Vision and Thermal Sights
From Guns.com:
The MRS line of optics is really where Holosun is making waves in the community, setting themselves apart. Starting off, the MRS TH is a digital thermal optic that can record, zoom from 1-8x, change the intensity of the screen, and change the color of the thermal (white hot, black hot, etc.)
The MRS NV is the night vision version of the rifle optic, offering the same features as the thermal. The NV also includes an IR illuminator on the side of the optic.
Wireless Thermal/NVG Scope Connects To Helmet
From KitUp:
In three years, the Army hopes to start fielding the Family of Weapon Sights-Individual, a new lightweight thermal weapon sight that is designed to communicate wirelessly with the service’s latest Enhanced Night Vision Goggle (ENVG).
Linking these two technologies creates a new capability called Rapid Target Acquisition, according to Lt. Col. Timothy Fuller, product manager for Soldier Maneuver Sensors at Fort Belvoir, Va.
DARPA Looking For Lighter Night Vision Goggles
From KitUp:
The Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA) said today’s night vision goggles are too heavy and cumbersome for troops and have led to short term and long term neck injuries.
DARPA officials have put out a call to companies to issue proposals to build the next generation of night vision goggles. Proposals must put forth a plan to design goggles that look a lot like a bulky pair commercial sunglasses. The night vision glasses must be able to instantly switch from daylight to infrared.

Anti-Nightvision camouflage
Posted by Jack Sinclair in News, Warrior Tools on 26/May/2011 17:39
“A demonstration video of the “Ghost” camouflage technology by german company Texplorer GmbH (Now Blücher Systems GmbH)
Developed in cooperation with the German army , this material reduces the thermal signature of soldiers and vehicles and is additionaly hard to spot on rest-light intensifiers aswell as rest-light multiplicators.
It is also available as sheets to cover thermal hotspots of vehicles like tanks.
In combination with conventional camouflage measures (camo nets) it is possible to successfully conceal vehicles such as tanks, trucks, planes and helicopters on ground or airborne FLIR imagery and other night vision optoelectronic devices.”
