Requiring Serial Numbers On Guns Not Constitutional

From Reason:

Given that guns with serial numbers are indeed, as the court pointed out, just as effective at self-defense as guns without, the serial number requirement seems to me to be a much lighter burden than the burden of objective, easy-to-comply-with licensing requirements, which the Court in Burden endorsed. True, the serial number requirement does interfere with the privacy of gun transactions and gun ownership, and privacy hawks may be concerned about that. But of course the shall-issue laws upheld in Bruen also interfered with the privacy of gun carrying, since people would need to identify themselves to the government to get the license.

Making Your Own Ammo On A Budget

From Gun Digest:

Reloading gear is like any other gear-intensive hobby; you can go right down the rabbit hole and get into a five-figure sum quicker than you’d imagine, or you can go minimalistic and set yourself up on the cheap. I’ve done both ways, and while I can say that the best tools will certainly make life easier, you can make fantastic ammo with inexpensive gear if you’re diligent about technique and pay attention to detail.

Courts Slow Feds’ Attempt To Regulate “Ghost Guns”

From The Federalist:

Biden’s expanded use of serial numbers is aimed at stopping the production of homemade guns, now called “ghost guns” by gun control advocates. Homemade guns have been around since even before the United States became a country, and it was never terribly difficult to make a gun with simple machine tools. But now their production has become nearly impossible to regulate. With 3-D metal printers, people can now make weapons that are indistinguishable from those purchased in stores.

Texas Gun Store Sues Biden Admin

From The Federalist:

Punishing minor slip-ups, the lawsuit argues, draws on a drastically different interpretation of the law than the definition federal courts have held based on the Gun Control Act of 1968.

UPS Requires Access To Gun Sellers’ Books

From Ammoland:

Firearms sellers started to receive a new agreement that they must sign to ship firearms through UPS. The letter contains new provisions in addition to the requirements announced last month. The most concerning of these new regulations is that UPS requires gun companies to turn over customer data and must allow UPS access to review and examine the shipper’s books and records relevant to the products being shipped upon request. The shipper must also provide UPS with invoices for any firearms-related products.

2nd Amendment For Everyone

From Ammoland:

Shortly after he began instructing, the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School occurred. As the government went into action trying to push more gun control, Tony felt pulled to become more vocal in the fight for our rights. He wrote a letter to his representatives and put it online for others to use as a template, thinking it may encourage others to do the same. Within days, the letter had over 15,000 hits

The KelTec Sub-2000 Carbine is a 9mm direct blowback carbine that feeds from stagger-column Glock-pattern magazines. You read that right, the KelTec Sub 2000 feeds from Glock magazines – at least, this version does. The model reviewed is designed specifically for Glock 19-pattern mags, meaning it can utilize Glock 19, Glock 17, and any 9mm Glock magazine with a capacity of over 15 rounds. (Or ten rounds in ban states.)

NY Sheriffs Refuse To Enforce New Gun Laws

From Bearing Arms:

“I have to enforce it because I swore to uphold the laws, but I can use as much discretion as I want,” said Richard C. Giardino, the Republican sheriff in Fulton County, northwest of Albany. “If someone intentionally flouts the law, then they’re going to be handled one way. But if someone was unaware that the rules have changed, then we’re not going to charge someone with a felony because they went into their barbershop with their carry concealed.”

Such criticism has been heard from Greene County, in the Hudson Valley, to Erie County, home to Buffalo, the state’s second-largest city, as well as from groups like the New York State Sheriffs’ Association, which called the new law a “thoughtless, reactionary action” that aims to “restrain and punish law-abiding citizens.”

Whistleblower Claims Vegas Shooting Was Linked To ISIS

From PJ Media:

Former FBI special agent John Guandolo told Turning Point USA in a recorded interview (below) that there’s a 90% certainty that the Las Vegas attack was a jihadi operation and Stephen Paddock was the conduit through which the terrorist organization attacked America.

In the interview, Guandolo said, “When you look at what actually transpired and put it together from a counter-espionage attack and counter-espionage look, the probability that was an ISIS attack is well over 90%.”

He said the special agent in charge of the Las Vegas FBI field office “got angry and dismissed it, and when presented with the information, FBI headquarters in Washington, D.C., dismissed it out of hand.”

Bill Introduced Would De-fang NFA, Increase Gun Rights

From Guns.com:

The newly announced Stop Harassing Owners of Rifles Today, or SHORT Act, introduced by U.S. Sen. Roger Marshall (R-Kan.) in the Senate and U.S. Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-Ga.) in the House, will remove the taxation, registration, and regulation in the NFA of firearms such as Short Barreled Rifles, Short-Barreled Shotguns, and Any Other Weapons. The sponsors argue it is past time for this reform and, in doing so, halt the Biden Administration’s pretending that people who own pistols with stabilizing braces in most cases possess illegal short-barreled rifles.

NY Man Receives $21,000 In Gift Cards At Gun Buyback For Printed Guns

From WKTV:

“I’m sure handing over $21,000 in gift cards to some punk kid after getting a bunch of plastic junk was a rousing success,” laughed Kem. “Gun buybacks are a fantastic way of showing, number one, that your policies don’t work, and, number 2, you’re creating perverse demand. You’re causing people to show up to these events, and, they don’t actually reduce crime whatsoever.”

Texas Court Says ATF Doesn’t Have Authority To Redefine Firearm

From Ammoland:

On September 2, 2022, the United States District Court, Northern District of Texas, Fort Worth Division, issued an Opinion and Order granting a preliminary injunction, in part, on the ATF “Final Rule” which radically changed the decades-long definition of what is a firearm in federal law.  The opinion explains that ATF created the longstanding definition of what a firearm is in 1978. Now, over forty years later, they are updating and expanding the definition into new areas.
