Rep Massie Takes ATF Head To Task

From Ammoland:

Rep. Masse was referencing an interview that Mr. Dettelbach did with CBS’s “60 Minutes.” It was the same interview where the ATF’s firearms “expert” could not disassemble or assemble a Glock pistol. In the interview, Dettelbach pointed out that someone could buy a Barrett .50 cal in cash. He said that FFLs should report cash purchases to the ATF. Many in the gun community took issue with this statement because it is not illegal to buy firearms with cash, and in many cases, gun owners prefer to use cash, especially since programs such as “Operation Choke Point” exist.

Allowing Postal Service To Ship Ammo Will Undermine Anti-gun States’ Restrictions

From Bearing Arms:

In a recent article, I talked about cloning pro-abortion states’ “Shield Laws” in the context of ammunition. The basic idea is that if pro-abortion states get to undermine anti-abortion states’ laws by shipping abortion pills, why shouldn’t pro-Second Amendment states copy the idea and undermine the unconstitutional laws of anti-Second Amendment states by shipping ammunition?

The postal service is one of the few federal services that is constitutionally mandated in Article 1, Section 8, Clause 7. Everyone, including gun owners, pays taxes to support this constitutionally-mandated service. In other words, it’s OUR postal service, not just the gun control supporters’ personal courier.

The ban on USPS shipping ammunition is obviously a political restriction, not a technical one, and can be traced back to the Gun Control Act of 1968. But, for argument’s sake, let’s say that the ban on USPS shipping ammunition is based on technical reasons associated with hazardous materials. In that case, the postal service should be mandated to build the capability to handle ammunition shipments like UPS and FedEx.

Frivolous Lawsuit Incoming From Uvalde Families

From The Truth About Guns:

On the second anniversary of the Robb Elementary School attack, families in Uvalde pursued further legal action, suing Meta Platforms, which owns Instagram, and Activision Blizzard, the maker of Call of Duty, claiming these companies bear responsibility for products used by the teenage gunman, AP News reports.

The families also filed a new lawsuit against Daniel Defense, the manufacturer of the AR-style rifle used in the May 24, 2022, shooting, adding to the existing lawsuits against the company. This action coincided with the small Texas city gathering to mourn the anniversary of one of the deadliest school shootings in U.S. history, where the gunman killed 19 students and two teachers. Officers confronted and shot the attacker after waiting over an hour to enter the fourth-grade classroom.

Cornyn Backtracking On Gun Law

From Ammoland:

“Cornyn, Tillis, Colleagues Introduce Resolution to Block Unconstitutional Biden ATF Rule,” a Wednesday press release announces. Their intent is to “to strike down the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ (ATF) rule on the definition of ‘Engaged in the Business’ as a Dealer in Firearms, which ignores the law and congressional intent and flagrantly violates the Constitution to try to require anyone who sells a firearm to register as a federal firearm licensee.

”How can veterans John Cornyn, Thom Tillis, and other Republican “Vichycons” — who gave the antis the votes they needed — possibly claim to be surprised that enemies of the right of the people to keep and bear arms won’t stretch any inch given into a mile and then some? What did they think Chris Murphy had in mind, fast-tracking a bill after the high-profile Uvalde school massacre (where a maniac took predictable advantage of a “gun-free zone” while cops dithered in the hall for 78 minutes)?

Texas Senator Cornyn Flails While Trying To Hold On To Power

From Ammoland:

“Cornyn, Tillis, Colleagues Introduce Resolution to Block Unconstitutional Biden ATF Rule,” a Wednesday press release announces. Their intent is to “to strike down the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ (ATF) rule on the definition of ‘Engaged in the Business’ as a Dealer in Firearms, which ignores the law and congressional intent and flagrantly violates the Constitution to try to require anyone who sells a firearm to register as a federal firearm licensee.”

Well, who signed on to the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, giving Joe Biden’s ATF and its Democrat, media, and citizen disarmament lobby allies all the cover they needed to overreach and impose? How can veterans John Cornyn, Thom Tillis, and other Republican “Vichycons” — who gave the antis the votes they needed — possibly claim to be surprised that enemies of the right of the people to keep and bear arms won’t stretch any inch given into a mile and then some? Corporate Press Hates America and It’s Founding Symbols

From The Federalist:

The meaning behind the “An Appeal To Heaven” flag, a pine-tree-adorned symbol used by squadrons of the Continental Navy during the Revolutionary War, is rather innocuous. George Washington’s secretary Col. Joseph Reed created the flag in 1775 to publicly display “an appeal to God to save the colonists from the King’s oppressive ruling.”

The same outlets fomenting fake scandal about the alleged Alito flag have never taken issue with any Americans displaying Black Lives Matter, Ukrainepro-terrorist, and rainbow flags, despite their connections to anti-American agitation. The New York Times, however, suggested the historic “An Appeal To Heaven” flag was associated with a “push for a more Christian-minded government.”

US Ammo Plant To Be Controlled By Foreign Corporation

From Eurasia Review:

The deal would give CSG control 70% of the manufacturing capacity for ammunition primers, ownership of ammunition brands Federal,  Remington, Speer, CCI,  Hevi-Shot, and Alliant Powder, and management of the U.S. Army’s Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. The transaction was criticized by U.S. Senators J.D. Vance and John Kennedy, Representatives Mike Waltz and Clay Higgins, and the National Sheriffs Association. (CSG currently has a 70% stake in Italian munition maker Fiocchi Munizioni which is widely available in the U.S.)

From The Truth About Guns:

Hamlin’s victory over Ronnie Barrett in a 35-to-31 vote signifies a shift towards greater transparency and improved financial stewardship.

“We want to welcome all of our members to the new NRA,” Hamlin told The Reload. “We want to welcome those that we’ve lost in the past five years to come back to us. And we want them to bring friends and family with them.”

Congressional Delegation, Including Sen Fetterman, In Turks and Caicos To Advocate For Jailed Americans

From Bearing Arms:

A group of representatives and senators from Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Texas traveled to the British protectorate in the Caribbean on Monday to plead with Turks and Caicos officials to release several Americans facing up to twelve years in prison for inadvertently bringing a few rounds of ammo in their luggage when they set off on their tropical vacations. Pennslyvania Sen. John Fetterman was among the lawmakers asking for leniency, and in comments to reporters sounded fairly positive about the discussions.

CBS Criticizes Police Departments For Selling Guns To Citizens

From The Truth About Guns:

The report is a synopsis of a larger, previously posted report called, “Police departments sell their used guns. Thousands end up at crime scenes.” In that report, the author nearly got to the truth about how the guns wind up in criminals’ hands, but also left out the most important part.

“Once sold by a department, weapons enter a secondary market where they can be resold to members of the public or other dealers,” the report stated. “By the time they turn up at crime scenes, the guns may have been stolen, traded or resold multiple times with little documentation. They sometimes still have the departments’ name stamped on the side.”
