DOD Wants Tyrannical Gun Laws For Service Members
From Ammoland:
Under the laughable pretext of “lethal-means reduction,” a new DOD report, “Preventing Suicide in the U.S. Military: Recommendations from the Suicide Prevention and Response Independent Review Committee” [embedded below], consists of a demand for active-duty troops to “register” all privately-owned guns, even those troopers who are in possession of valid, state-issued CCW permits.
This will, of course, immediately bring about a demand on the part of “woke” base commanders that all privately-owned guns (now “registered”) be subsequently removed from homes (on-base or off) of troopers, including officers and NCOs, and locked-up “for safe-keeping” within a base armory.

“The Army determined that this MHS (full size handgun, compact handgun, ammunition, and ancillary components) was the best value in terms of its performance capability, the terms and conditions of the vendor’s proposal, and price,†according to the release.

From Judicial Watch:
Judicial Watch announced today that it has obtained educational materials from the Department of Defense (DOD) depicting conservative organizations as “hate groups†and advising students to be aware that “many extremists will talk of individual liberties, states’ rights, and how to make the world a better place.†The documents repeatedly cite the leftwing Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) as a resource for identifying “hate groups.â€

Is The Government Destroying Used Brass?
From Examiner.com:
The controversy over destruction of brass under the Obama administration’s DoD was reported in this column in March, 2009, including, unsurprisingly, the observation that “Authorized Journalist†media was once again either oblivious or uninterested.
New Spy Program at Pentagon
The Pentagon is taking some of its personnel from the Defense Intelligence Agency and creating a new department that will be known as the Defense Clandestine Service.
From MilitaryTimes.com:
The new service is intended to curb personnel losses, making clandestine work part of the Pentagon’s professional career track and rewarding those who prove successful at operating covertly overseas with further tours and promotions, like their CIA colleagues.
New Defense Strategy Includes Big Cuts
From Military Times:
President Barack Obama joined Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and senior military and civilian leaders at the Pentagon on Thursday to introduce the strategy, which emphasizes a shift in focus from Iraq and Afghanistan to the Asia-Pacific region.
The strategy document also states that the U.S. will have to rely on a smaller military force.

Aircraft worker sentenced to federal prison for selling defective bolts to military
Posted by Jack Sinclair in News on 28/Jun/2010 22:20
“SAN DIEGO — A judge has sentenced a San Diego County aircraft worker to two years in federal prison for selling the military defective bolts for its helicopters.
U.S. Attorney Laura E. Duffy says 57-year-old Joel H. Potter pleaded guilty and admitted he put troops at risk. He was sentenced Monday.
Duffy says the U.S. Department of Defense discovered the problem after a bolt’s head broke off as it was being installed on a Sikorsky CH-53E helicopter, prompting a worldwide alert to the Navy and Marine Corps.”

New Bomber Back From The Dead
The Defense Department has decided to resurrect a program for designing a new long range bomber. Could this be in response to the fact that Russia just unveiled their new stealth fighter?
In a press conference yesterday, Gates said the newly unveiled Quadrennial Defense Review (QDR) renewed emphasis on the military’s need to counter “disruptive, high-tech capabilities†developed by future adversaries.
