Ayn Rand on Egalitarianism
Posted by Jack Sinclair in Opinion on 28/Jul/2010 21:56
“To understand the meaning and motives of egalitarianism, project it into the field of medicine.
Suppose a doctor is called to help a man with a broken leg and, instead of setting it, proceeds to break the legs of ten other men, explaining that this would make the patient feel better; when all these men become crippled for life, the doctor advocates the passage of a law compelling everyone to walk on crutches—in order to make the cripples feel better and equalize the “unfairness†of nature.
If this is unspeakable, how does it acquire an aura of morality—or even the benefit of a moral doubt—when practiced in regard to man’s mind?”

Why does Socialism Fail?
Posted by Jack Sinclair in Opinion on 13/Jul/2010 01:26
Socialism as an economic utility does not fail because of the rewards given to the masses for less work, effort, talent or ability.
Socialism fails because it refuses to accept the possibility of failure.
It does not punish the lazy or inept shiftless drones who refuse to act for their own benefit. Instead, it mandates all are equal legally (good) and thus equal monetarily, intellectually (bad).
The entire purpose of government and any economic system is to enable them to live as peaceably and fruitful as possible while being just.
It cannot be just to mandate tribute for the sake of someone else and then use force to defend this statute. A society cannot be considered peaceful if it’s citizens are under the constant threat of force.
Socialism fails not because it gives – it fails because it takes.
It will not matter how many nations submit to a socialized economic model, none of this can stop laziness and lethargy.
You want a brighter, leaner, more capable America? Stop taking from the deserving and giving to the undeserving.
Start demanding that people, like every other fucking organism on the planet, earn their happiness, their food, their livelihood.

The Tenth Amendment Center
The Tenth Amendment Center is a national think tank that works to preserve and protect the principles of strictly limited government through information, education, and activism. The center serves as a forum for the study and exploration of state and individual sovereignty issues, focusing primarily on the decentralization of federal government power as required by the Constitution.
