Pro Gun Libertarian Wins State Office In Wyoming

From Bearing Arms:

Burt was part of a Libertarian Party effort that focused on small races in districts that were unopposed.

He’s also the only one who won their race. Then again, it seems he was the only one in the state to actually win. You see, he was the only one up against a Democrat instead of a Republican.

The key, though, was focusing on values Republican voters could rally behind.

Guns Are Power and Elites Want To Ban Them

From The Guardian:

Now, after a year that has seen heavily armed men show up at state capitols in Virginia, Michigan, Idaho and elsewhere to confront Democratic lawmakers over gun control and coronavirus restrictions, more Americans are taking gun owners’ rhetoric about “tyrants” seriously. Some of the same armed protesters who showed up at Michigan’s state house and at a pro-gun rally this summer were charged last week with conspiring to kidnap Michigan’s governor and put her on trial for tyranny.

Horowitz spoke to the Guardian about how mainstream the idea of insurrection has become in American politics, and why lawmakers have failed to challenge it for decades.

How To Talk To Anti-gunners

From a Reddit post of a former anti-gun voter:

If you grew up with firearms, don’t understand why people oppose the 2nd Amendment, why they vote for poorly written gun control laws, why the liberal <whatevers> are anti-gun, or who don’t understand how to reach your wife/GF/friends on why 2A rights are so important – this post is for you. This is how someone who wasn’t raised around guns grew up to firmly believe in strict gun control, and how she came to change her mind.

Taiwan Blacksmith Makes Knives From Artillery

From Hong Kong Free Press:

In a contemporary twist on beating swords into ploughshares, Taiwanese blacksmith Wu Tseng-dong has forged a career fashioning kitchen knives from Chinese artillery shells once fired at his home.

Known locally as “Maestro Wu”, his workshop on the island of Kinmen — which lies just two miles from the Chinese mainland — is a vivid reminder of the threat of war continually hanging over Taiwan.

Cabela’s Sued For Legal Ammunition Sale

From The Truth About Guns:

Federal law states that people can’t be sued for engaging in lawful trade of guns and ammo. Oh, if someone breaks the law or if the products are faulty, that’s different, but just for engaging in lawful trade? Nope.

Of course, that doesn’t stop lawsuits from happening. Usually, they’re thrown out, but an anti-gun court decision against Remington didn’t just hurt the company, it’s likely to hurt the entire gun industry as now the vultures are out and about. Since a judge ruled that the lawsuit against Remington could continue, they’re hoping other judges will follow suit.

Gun Sanctuaries Take Hold In Pacific Northwest

From Bearing Arms:

In recent months the Pacific Northwest has been ground zero for the movement, and Second Amendment activists in Oregon were able to put Second Amendment Sanctuary ordinances on the ballot in four Oregon counties. The ordinances won the approval of voters this week in Columbia and Umatilla counties, while the ballot measure was rejected in Clatsop and Coos counties (where local officials had campaigned against the proposal).

Americans Vote For Guns With Their Pocketbooks

From The Truth About Guns:

NSSF released the adjusted National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) figures for October. They aren’t record-breaking. They’re a record-shattering 1.76 million background checks completed for the sale of a firearm across the nation. That brings the annual total to 17.2 million, leaving the previous record in the rear-view mirror. That was 15.7 million background checks in 2016, also an election year, when Hillary Clinton promised to re-enact the failed 1994 Assault Weapons Ban.
