IANSA Anti-Gun Propaganda Machine
Posted by Gary in Law, News, Opinion, Threat Watch on 15/Mar/2010 17:01
The
International Action Network on Small Arms (IANSA) is a global propaganda machine that uses violence against women and children, and public health as focal points for it’s anti-gun rhetoric.
IANSA works closely with with United Nations in their effort to eliminate small arms throughout the globe. IANSA provides media, resources and “tool-kits” in several languages and supports anti- gun efforts in over 100 countries.

Walther PK380
http://www.gunnuts-tng.com/2009/01/walther-pk380.html
A first look at the Walther PK380.
Ever since I bought my Walther P22 oh so many years ago, I’ve been wishing that Walther would make a polymer framed gun with a steel slide and barrel that was about the same size at the P22, but chambered for a more reasonable defensive cartridge, such as .32 ACP or .380 ACP. I’ve wanted this gun for all kinds of reasons, not the least of which is that my wife loves the P22 and would carry it if it wasn’t a .22 (and notoriously finicky).
Today, my prayers have been answered. Meet the Walther PK380.

Warfighting 101

From: Mark Alexander
“A universal peace … is in the catalogue of events, which will never exist but in the imaginations of visionary philosophers, or in the breasts of benevolent enthusiasts.” –James Madison
I spent much of the last week participating in a national security forum organized by the Air War College and hosted by the Twelfth Air Force and the 355th Fighter Wing at Davis-Monthan AFB.
Discussing the challenges of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and the surge for Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) in Afghanistan with command personnel makes for lively debate, but the best part of these forums is incidental — the opportunity to meet many enlisted airmen and those flying the planes they make ready.
I have been on military bases across the nation, and without fail I am most impressed by the young uniformed Patriots who are the foundation of our military might. Simply put, their dedication, talent and spirit are second to none.
A Mosque Grows in Tucson
Posted by Gary in Opinion, Threat Watch on 17/Feb/2010 15:53
From Phyrfight
I drove past a mosque in downtown Tucson this week. There is an 18th century Spanish Mission about 9 miles away and the mosque, which appears to have a prefab fiberglass dome, is right next to a big catholic church. I can imagine some factory overseas where they turn out fiberglass mosque domes by the hundreds.
Seeing this unexpected island of Islam surrounded by a sea of Catholicism made me think how angry the hundreds of millions of true believers of Islam must be at Osama. If he had not been so anxious to bring about jihad, the steady and inevitable spread of Islam would have gone on mostly unnoticed by the work-a-day world.
The following conversation took place before the collapse of the Soviet Union and long before the “War on Terrorâ€.
From Confessions of an Economic Hit Man, p 52. John Perkins is speaking with a woman in Indonesia.
“But why should there be such animosity between Muslims and Christians?†I asked. … “Because,†she said …â€the West—especially its leader, the U.S.—is determined to take control of all the world, to become the greatest empire in history. It has already gotten very close to succeeding. The Soviet Union currently stands in its way, but the Soviets will not endure. Toynbee* could see that. They have no religion, no faith, no substance behind their ideology. History demonstrates that faith—soul, a belief in higher powers—is essential. We Muslims have it. We have it more than anyone else in the world, even more than the Christians. So we wait. We grow strong.†*Reference to Arnold Toynbee’s Civilization on Trial and The World and the West.
Should Congress be required to read all legislation prior to voting on it?
Posted by Jack Sinclair in Opinion on 4/Feb/2010 18:21
Interesting thread on Reddit:
tonster181: Regardless of political affiliation, isn’t it important that our representatives read the legislation that they are enacting prior to voting it into law?
I know in the private sector I’d never sign a contract without reading it in full. I sort of equate legislation with a contract, as they are binding documents into law and many congressmen (and women) don’t bother to even read what they are agreeing to or disagreeing with.
I find it abhorrent that congress would vote things into law without reading it. This is sheer laziness in my opinion.
largestinteger: One thing that might seriously help would be to adopt this line from the Constitution of the Confederate States of America.
“Every law, or resolution having the force of law, shall relate to but one subject, and that shall be expressed in the title.”

Sniper: Inside The Crosshairs
Last night The History Channel aired one of the finer programs that I have seen on that channel. The program was two hours of real world stories of snipers from Vietnam to Iraq and Afghanistan. The program showed some of the longest shots in sniper warfare and discussed the force multiplier effect of a sniper on the battlefield. I highly recommend this show for anyone slightly interested in the subject.
Slovakian boxer teaches two idiots a valuable lesson
Posted by Jack Sinclair in Opinion on 22/Jan/2010 02:44
This video shows a couple of idiot “happy slappers” setting up a complete stranger for a beating that their friend, perched in a tree with a camera, is going to film. Evidently these two losers think blind-siding innocent strangers and catching it on camera is funny.
A guy walks by with his girlfriend and one of the idiots smacks her. What they don’t know is that the guy is a boxer, and he gives them a valuable lesson.
Being passive, weak and unprepared is not a virtue. You cannot protect the people you love from bullies like this if you are not willing to take immediate and intense action. This boxer not only protected his girlfriend, he provided a valuable service to society by making these two idiots think twice before attacking another stranger in the future.
They were stupid enough that he had to knock them down more than once before they started to catch on that maybe this was not a good idea.
