NY Gov Wants To Detain “Public Health Risks”
From CBN:
A bill introduced by a New York State Assemblyman would give Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) the authority to remove or detain someone deemed a threat to the public health amid concerns over the coronavirus pandemic.Â
Evidence New York Violated NRA’s Free Speech
From Breitbart:
In June of 2019, the NRA achieved a breakthrough: in an attempt to negotiate resolution of the NRA’s pending subpoena, Lloyd’s America, Inc. (“LAIâ€) provided a small number of documents voluntarily to the NRA, subject to a strict confidentiality order. Those documents, and additional details which have come to light since that time, paint a stark and troubling picture of Defendants’ conduct. As described in the NRA’s proposed amended pleading, former DFS Superintendent Vullo was fully aware of identical market conduct by non-NRA entities, yet leveraged DFS’s considerable power over Lloyd’s to inflict harm on “gun programsâ€â€”irrespective of whether those programs violated the law. These threats were delivered in off-the-record conversations and surreptitious backroom meetings. Taken aback by such conduct, insurance- industry insiders, including Lloyd’s, privately predicted that the NRA would sue DFS. They were right.
NY Bans Teachers From Carrying Guns
From Guns.com:
School districts in the Empire State are now forbidden under a new law from authorizing teachers or other staff to carry firearms on campus.
The move came with New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s signature on legislation this week forwarded to his desk by the state’s Democrat-controlled legislature. The bill, S.101A, stipulates that schools can’t issue an authorization to carry a gun to any teacher, administrator or other people not primarily employed as a school resource officer, law enforcement officer or security guard.
NY Expands Waiting Period To 30 Days
From Guns.com:
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed a new law Monday that would extend the waiting period for National Instant Criminal Background Check System delays on gun transfers from three days to 30.
Gov. Cuomo Criticized For Anti-NRA Stance
From Bearing Arms:
In April of this year, though, state regulators told insurers and banks they oversee to look at their relationships with gun rights groups. They warned of “reputational risks†in their “dealings†with the NRA.
“Nice little business you have here,†the state seemed to be saying to banks and insurers. “It’d be a shame if something happened to it.†The state has left little doubt that it was loaded for bear.
Politicians Start Using Encrypted Messaging
Posted by Brian in News, Threat Watch on 3/Feb/2017 07:00
From The Wall Street Journal:
Signal, a smartphone app that allows users to send encrypted messages, is gaining popularity in the political world amid rising fears about hacking and surveillance in the wake of a tumultuous election year.
Some say the legion of political types has a singular goal to avoid a repeat of the WikiLeaks scandal, in which the emails of Mrs. Clinton and her closest allies were dumped onto the internet.
