Henry Firearms To Move Operations To Wisconsin

From Guns.com:

This week, the company announced a strategic transition that includes transferring all of its legacy manufacturing operations in New Jersey to its newly expanded headquarters in Rice Lake and two additional facilities in Ladysmith. Further, the company is set to close on a third facility in Ladysmith this summer.

“We are putting all of our eggs in one basket, the Wisconsin basket, because it makes us more efficient, more productive, and allows for more collaboration amongst our design and engineering teams, all while sustaining and enhancing Henry’s solid reputation for quality,” said Anthony Imperato, Founder and CEO of Henry Repeating Arms. “With about 400,000 square feet of cutting-edge manufacturing operations in four facilities within minutes of each other, Henry Repeating Arms is well positioned for its next chapter.”

Lever Action Cartridges Still In Use Today

From American Hunter:

Hunting with a lever-action rifle is a unique experience; in this day of high-magnification optics and high ballistic coefficient bullets, the lever rifles seem to be a throwback to a bygone era. However, looking at a good number of hunting scenarios—especially our deer-hunting here in the Eastern U.S., the thick forests of the Pacific Northwest and the many hunts over feeders throughout the Southern U.S.—the lever guns and their associated cartridges pose no real handicap. Quite obviously, a round-nosed bullet from one of the slower, rimmed cartridges isn’t the best choice for taking a buck across a bean field, but for shots inside of 150 yards, where the majority of my shots in New York have been, these guns and their cartridges work quite well.

Henry’s New “Firearm” Lever Action In .410

From Guns.com:

Announced late Thursday, the Axe is compact, with a 16-inch barrel and 26-inch overall length. Chambered in .410 bore, it feeds through a side loading gate and has a magazine tube that holds five 2.5-inch shells. While threaded for invector-style chokes, it is not technically a shotgun and is instead classified as a “firearm” by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives, which means it is not regulated under the National Firearm Act.
