You Are Responsible For Your Own Safety

In Pittsburgh, police staffing shortages are currently so critical that the Department has just announced its officers will no longer respond to calls involving theft, harassment, criminal mischief, burglary, etc, during the hours of three to seven am. That time gap is, of course, already expanding as staffing continues to decline and will soon embrace the entire day.

In plain English, police officers will not be arriving as a result of any call from a City resident unless shots are being fired and there are dead bodies lying around!

Washington Post Demonizes Gun Supporters

Mass shootings account for a minority of gun fatalities, but the use of assault weapons greatly increases the rates of death and injury as well as the severity of injuries. As was vividly underscored by Saturday’s events, the risk they pose to law enforcement is great and should give lie to those who think the solution to gun violence is even more guns.

Facebook Bans Gun Page

From CBS Pittsurgh:

Lowry says the gun shop even paid Facebook $5,000 dollars to advertise their giveaway, and all their Facebook ads were approved by the company.

“They took our money without a problem, but as soon as somebody brought media attention to it, they shut us down.” Lowry said.
