“The key advantage of the handgun is that it’s practical. There are much better weapons for defending yourself. A rifle or shotgun will always offer more protection than a handgun. The reason why handguns are so practical is that it’s not always feasible to reach for a rifle.
When you need it quickly, or there’s a surprise attack, a handgun in easy reach will get the job done. It’s also handy because it’s concealable.
Training is essential. The best training is to take a course with a certified instructor, but for various reasons (including cost), this is not always a great option. If you’ve got the money, this is the way to go; if you’re on a budget, there are other options.
One great course that’s very reasonable is the NRA’s Education and Training Division.
Some maintain that the handgun is the easiest and most practical tool for defending you and your family. Before it will do you any good, you’ve got to know how to use it.”

23 year old U.S citizen, cartel hit man for Los Zetas, arrested in Reynosa, Mexico

23 year old U.S citizen and alleged Los Zetas gang member, Joseph Allen Garcia
“A 23 year old U.S citizen and alleged Los Zetas gang member, Joseph Allen Garcia, was arrested in the border city of Reynosa, Mexico, this Thursday night and expelled within hours to the U.S. to face multiple charges in Texas of murder, attempted murder, aggravated assault, possession of marijuana and a federal charge of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.
The suspect was arrested by Tamaulipas state investigative police with the help of intelligence shared by Texas authorities. After being expelled by Mexican authorities Garcia was taken into custody Friday morning by U.S. Marshals in Hidalgo County, across the Rio Grande from Reynosa.
According to federal authorities the suspect is a cartel hit man for Los Zetas in Mexico and also works for the Mexican Mafia prison based gang in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas.”

Mexican Mayors fear for their lives – move to US

“15 mayors have been killed since President Felipe Calderon declared war on Mexico’s drug cartels shortly after taking office in December 2006 including the murder of the mayor of Santiago, Nuevo Leon, Edelmiro Cavazos.
Several Mexican mayors have been forced to move to the United States for reasons of personal and family safety in the face of threats from drug traffickers and the killings of 10 mayors this year in Mexico.
Mayors from the northern border states of Tamaulipas, Chihuahua and Nuevo Leon have moved to the United States, with some taking up residence in that country permanently and others splitting their time between U.S. and Mexican residences, municipal officials said.
The mayors of at least six border cities in the northeastern state of Tamaulipas have been forced to move to neighboring Texas.”

The Obama Administration just announced they would be working with the United Nations to pass a new “Small Arms Treaty.â€
The UN’s “Small Arms Treaty†is nothing more than a massive GLOBAL gun control scheme, designed to register, ban and CONFISCATE firearms from law-abiding citizens; and
The new treaty will likely be designed to force national governments to enact tougher licensing requirements, making law-abiding citizens cut through even more bureaucratic red tape just to buy a firearm legally; and
The United Nation’s “Small Arms Treaty†would also likely ban the trade, sale and private ownership of ALL semi-automatic weapons; and
The ratification of this treaty would also likely create an international gun registry, setting the stage for full-scale gun confiscation.

CIA Wants To Kill American Citizen
No matter how you feel about Anwar al-Awlaki, the the Yemeni-based inspiration for some of the recent attacks, you can’t circumvent the Constitution. The man is on a CIA “kill list” which should upset anyone who loves this country and what it stands for. American citizens are guaranteed the right to a trial by a jury of their peers (sixth amendment). So far he has been convicted of nothing and the government claims “state secrets” anytime anyone mentions a trial. Let me just say that the state would not exist if not for the people who created it. If this man is killed then anyone of us could be taken out and then the whole system breaks down.
This man deserves to be sent to the afterlife as soon as possible, but I will be damned if anyone thinks themselves above the law, especially the President, who studied constitutional law.
Defense Department: Book Burner
In a statement to CNN, Cunningham said defense officials observed the September 20 destruction of about 9,500 copies of Army Reserve Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer’s new memoir “Operation Dark Heart.”
In the memoir, Shaffer recalls his time in Afghanistan leading a black-ops team during the Bush administration. The Bronze Star medal recipient told CNN he believes the Bush administraton’s biggest mistake during that time was misunderstanding the culture there.
Not long ago I finished reading Jawbreaker by Gary Berntsen, which was heavily redacted by the CIA. The redactions are so thick in parts that is is almost comical.

Anwar al-Awlaki, an American born in New Mexico - yet another home-grown terrorist, educated in an American Mosque
WASHINGTON – The Obama administration on Saturday invoked the state secrets privilege which would kill a lawsuit on behalf of U.S.-born cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, an alleged terrorist said to be targeted for death or capture under a U.S. government program.
Believed to be hiding in Yemen, al-Awlaki has become the most notorious English-speaking advocate of terrorism directed at the United States.
E-mails link al-Awlaki to the Army psychiatrist accused of the killings at Fort Hood, Texas, last year. Al-Awlaki has taken on an increasingly operational role in al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula, the Justice Department said in a court filing, including preparing Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab in his attempt to detonate an explosive device aboard a Northwest Airlines flight from Amsterdam to Detroit on Christmas Day 2009.
In its court papers, the Justice Department said that the issues in the case are for the executive branch of government to decide rather than the courts.
US war protesters cry foul over FBI terrorism raids

CHICAGO: Anti-war protesters have claimed their homes and offices were raided by the FBI on Friday in an attempt to silence dissent in the US.
An FBI spokesman confirmed agents searched six locations in Minneapolis and two in Chicago as part of an investigation into ”activities concerning the material support of terrorism”.
Special Agent Steve Warfield of the Minneapolis branch of the FBI declined to confirm who was raided, saying only that the warrants remained sealed. ”There’s no imminent threat to the community,” Warfield said. ”We did not plan on making any arrests and we did not make any arrests.”
Activist Mick Kelly, an organizer of a huge anti-war rally on the opening day of the 2008 Republican National Convention, said the FBI had kicked down his door about 7am on Friday after he had already left for work.
”To me this is harassment of anti-war activists and leaders who have spoken against US intervention in Latin America and the Middle East,” Kelly said. He insisted he had ”absolutely not” been involved in any illegal activities.
”I am angry,” she said. ”I want people to know that the government is targeting people for our ideas.”

Fourth Mexican mayor in less than six weeks killed by Assassins

MEXICO CITY: Assassins have killed a fourth Mexican mayor in less than six weeks as a drug war continues to engulf formerly calm parts of the country, authorities said.
Gunmen ambushed and shot dead Prisciliano Rodriguez Salinas and an employee on Thursday night at his ranch near the industrial centre of Monterrey, in the northern state of Nuevo Leon. Mr Rodriguez was mayor of the town of Doctor Gonzalez, just north-east of Monterrey.
On Friday Ricardo Solis, who was to be sworn in as mayor of another town, was shot and critically injured in the border state of Chihuahua. President Felipe Calderon condemned the ”cowardly” killings and pledged to continue fighting the drug cartels.

Scores of Taliban Killed in 2 Airstrikes

KABUL, Afghanistan — Two separate airstrikes killed more than 70 Taliban insurgents on Saturday, NATO officials said, although some local residents said that civilians were among the victims.
In eastern Laghman Province, a combined force of Afghan and coalition soldiers airlifted troops into the Masooda village in the Alishing district to clear the area of insurgents, the international forces said in a statement. After coming under fire, they called for air support, and 32 insurgents were killed, according to Afghan police officials. NATO officials separately put the death toll at “more than 30.â€

Sure, the unit has some of the government’s top geeks — and is oh-so-conveniently co-located with the network infiltration experts at the National Security Agency. But Cyber Command is too busy trying to shore up the Pentagon’s digital defenses. Plus, they’re not even sure helping your company out would be legal, yet.
“Right now, we do not have a role,†new Cyber Command chief Gen. Keith Alexander tells reporters in a rare on-the-record interview. “Within the United States, I do not believe that’s where Cyber Command should or will operate.â€

Army Reveals Afghan Biometric ID Plan; Millions Scanned, Carded by May

Scanning prisoners’ irises is just Step 1. In Afghanistan, local and NATO forces are amassing biometric dossiers on hundreds of thousands of cops, crooks, soldiers, insurgents and ordinary citizens.
