NRA Challenges Florida Ban On Adults 18-20 Buying Guns

In its initial complaint, NRA made clear that Florida’s age restriction violated the U.S. Constitution on multiple counts. First, NRA noted that the ban was unconstitutional on its face – as the “ban infringes upon, and imposes an impermissible burden upon, the Second Amendment rights​.” Second, the complaint made clear that the new prohibition was an unconstitutional violation of the Second Amendment as applied to young women ages 18-20, who, as a cohort, are responsible for a minuscule percentage of overall violent crime.

Raising The Smoking Age Will Lead To Other Bad Ideas

Where the gun issue comes into all this should be obvious. Look at all that’s being done to limit access to rifles and handguns to anyone under 21. If you’re a “minority,”  Mike Bloomberg wants it to be 25.
As a matter of historical perspective, Audie Murphy would have been deemed “too young” to be trusted with a rifle at the time his legendary heroics earned him recognition as the most decorated combat soldier of WWII. It also flies in the face of 10 U.S. Code § 246 – Militia: composition and classes:
“(a) The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age…”

CA Gov Signs Bill Raising Gun Age To 21

Walmart Illegally Denied 18yr Old A Gun

The Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries this week found that the teen, Hannah Brumbles, was the victim of age discrimination in violation of state accommodations lawafter Walmart refused to sell her a gun over an internal policy. In late February, Walmart said it won’t sell firearms and ammunition to anyone under age 21, citing the Parkland shooting for its nationwide policy reversal.

Supreme Court Refuses To Hear Case On Gun Rights Of 18 to 20-year-olds

The Supreme Court refused Monday to consider any new cases on gun rights, including the ability of 18- to 20-year-olds to buy guns.
