MOSCOW – The suicide bomber who killed 36 people at a Moscow airport visited his home village shortly before the attack and may have collected the bomb there, a report said on Thursday, citing investigators.

The bomber briefly returned to his home village on Jan 19, five days before blowing himself up in Domodedovo airport’s arrivals hall, the Kommersant business daily reported, citing investigators.

Officials have named the bomber as 20-year-old Magomed Yevloyev from the North Caucasus region of Ingushetia and announced they had also arrested his brother and sister on suspicion of helping him plot the suicide strike.

Terrorism Hits Sweden

A Muslim terrorist blew himself up in a Swedish shopping center yesterday.

Here is the Reuters report.

TT said the letter promised attacks over Sweden’s presence in Afghanistan, where it has 500 troops with the U.S.-led NATO force, and the cartoons drawn three years ago by Lars Vilks.

Vilks, the target of several attacks, told Reuters Television he was safe and was getting used to being a target.

“Sweden is panicking of course because this has never been the case before that you have an act of terrorism directed toward the public, and this will of course create fear in Sweden,” he said in an interview.

Now we will see the resolve of the Swedish government. Will they bow to a culture stuck in the 5th century or will they double their efforts to eradicate the enemy.

“LaBonte grew up in Connecticut. He played baseball and football at Brookfield High School. He turned down a shot at professional baseball with the Cleveland Indians when he graduated from high school in 1992 and opted for the Army, said his father, a former Navy SEAL.

LaBonte earned the celebrated black and yellow Ranger patch and was assigned to First Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, one of the toughest units.”

“Yesterday’s tragedy reminds us that the men and women of the CIA put their lives at risk every day to protect this nation,” Director Panetta said. “Throughout our history, the reality is that those who make a real difference often face real danger.”
