“Last year’s championship was so incredible that it was hard to wrap my head around because it was my first win and just my second competition,” said Reese. “This year is just as exciting, but it’s also more satisfying because now I have a whole team to share it with.”

Reese, a Southern California native, just started shooting competitively three years ago. Now she’s a back-to-back national champion in her only two attempts. Reese signed on as SureFire’s female shooting captain only two months ago and now has won another national championship for one of the most dominant teams in the sport.

New Surefire Runs on AAs

News Release

SureFire Releases First AA Battery Flashlight

E2L-AA

E2L-AA

Fountain Valley, CA — SureFire, LLC, manufacturer of high-end illumination tools and tactical products, has released a new model to its popular Outdoorsman series of flashlights. Like other members of the Outdoorsman family, the new E2L AA features a dual-output, solid-state LED emitter; tailcap switching; a TIR lens, and a weather-resistant aerospace aluminum body that’s been Mil-Spec hard anodized. It differs, however, in its power source. The E2L AA, as its name suggests, runs on either two AA lithium or AA alkaline batteries—a first for SureFire.

The progression of LED technology has finally led to a reasonable output/runtime combination that measured up to SureFire standards. For nearly twenty years, SureFire was the only flashlight manufacturer to use lithium 123A batteries, the only sufficient compact power source to run the high-output incandescent lamps that made SureFire famous. However, 123A batteries aren’t as cheap as AA and are harder to find. AA batteries are still not as powerful as the 123A so the E2L AA Outdoorsman was designed primarily for outdoor use, but it’s built to the same standards as its battle-proven brothers.

Of course, a choice of batteries is not the only factor that makes the E2L AA a great fit for the Great Outdoors. Its power-regulated LED generates two output levels: 80 lumens of light on high (four times the light of a typical two-D-cell flashlight), perfect for searching or signaling, or three lumens on low, enough light for navigating, reading a map, or other close-range tasks without compromising night-adapted vision. The flashlight runs for nine hours on a set of AA lithium batteries at its high setting and 60 hours at its low setting, allowing a user to better manage runtime by switching between the two levels as needed. A Total Internal Reflection (TIR) lens gathers the solid-state LED’s light and shapes it into a versatile beam with plenty of reach and enough surround light to accommodate peripheral vision. And to protect the E2L AA from the elements, its Mil-Spec hard-anodized aerospace aluminum body is sealed with O-rings and gaskets to keep out moisture and dirt.

The E2L AA retails for $159 and is available for purchase from an authorized SureFire dealer or online at www.surefire.com.

New Smaller Suppressors from SureFire

Press Release

Suppressor-Mini-BK

Suppressor-Mini-BK

Fountain Valley, CA — SureFire, LLC, manufacturer of high-end illumination tools and tactical products, have released their Mini and Micro suppressors. Both work with existing SureFire flash hider and muzzle brake suppressor adapters, but come in a significantly smaller package than previous models.

“Adding length and weight to a personal weapon system is usually an unwanted modification,” says Barry Dueck, director of the SureFire Suppressor Division. “These two new suppressors were designed with that thought in mind. We’re trying to reduce the users overall signature, not just the firearm’s.”

At 5.0 inches in length and 14.0 ounces in weight, the MINI suppressor is SureFire’s new flagship 5.56mm suppressor. It provides the same performance as its predecessor, the SureFire FA556-212 suppressor, but at one inch less in length and two ounces lighter in weight.

At 4.0 inches long and 12.0 ounces in weight, the compact and lightweight SureFire MICRO suppressor is designed to attenuate the sound signature of a carbine or rifle to a safe level, as well as reduce the dust and flash signature while minimizing added weight and length to s host weapon with a 14.5” barrel or longer. The MICRO, like the MINI, features the Fast Attach® system for rapid attachment/detachment on any weapon equipped with a compatible SureFire suppressor adapter. Thanks to SureFire’s overlapping mount, only 1.75 inches are added to the length of the rifle.

SureFire’s proprietary suppressor design not only reduces the sound levels and muzzle flash of a fired weapon, helping to protect an operator’s hearing and keep his location concealed, it also typically increases projectile velocity and improves a weapon’s accuracy. This is SureFire’s philosophy of Total Signature Reduction™. Contrary to existing suppressor models, which typically degrade performance of a 1-2 MOA (Minute of Angle) rifle to 3-4 MOA—sometimes as much as 8 MOA, SureFire suppressors typically improve grouping sizes.

Most suppressors also cause a shift in a weapon’s point-of-zero when attached or detached. But under fire, an operator seldom has the time to re-zero his weapon after attaching a suppressor. With a SureFire Suppressor, there is no need to re-zero the weapon. Its Fast-Attach mechanism locks the suppressor onto the firearm in the same position every time, producing a negligible, repeatable point-of-impact shift. And SureFire Suppressors are as durable as the barrels they’re mounted on, making fulltime suppressor use not only probable but practical.

All SureFire suppressors includes a nylon cleaning brush and a padded, ballistic nylon MOLLE pouch for storage. The suppressors are available in a black or dark earth finish. For more information or to find a SureFire suppressor dealer, visit www.surefire.com.
