Sniper: Inside The Crosshairs

Last night The History Channel aired one of the finer programs that I have seen on that channel. The program was two hours of real world stories of snipers from Vietnam to Iraq and Afghanistan. The program showed some of the longest shots in sniper warfare and discussed the force multiplier effect of a sniper on the battlefield. I highly recommend this show for anyone slightly interested in the subject.

Slovakian boxer teaches two idiots a valuable lesson

This video shows a couple of idiot “happy slappers” setting up a complete stranger for a beating that their friend, perched in a tree with a camera, is going to film. Evidently these two losers think blind-siding innocent strangers and catching it on camera is funny.

A guy walks by with his girlfriend and one of the idiots smacks her. What they don’t know is that the guy is a boxer, and he gives them a valuable lesson.

Being passive, weak and unprepared is not a virtue. You cannot protect the people you love from bullies like this if you are not willing to take immediate and intense action. This boxer not only protected his girlfriend, he provided a valuable service to society by making these two idiots think twice before attacking another stranger in the future.

They were stupid enough that he had to knock them down more than once before they started to catch on that maybe this was not a good idea.

Yemen tightens visa rules to screen out militants

Yemen will stop issuing visas to foreign visitors upon arrival to try to prevent Islamic militants from sneaking in to meet and train with an al-Qaida offshoot.

Visitors requiring visas will instead have to apply for them at Yemeni embassies abroad before traveling in an effort to better screen out potential militants.

Maybe the United States could learn something from Yemen: be more careful about who you let in to the country.

“I wasn’t insane or post traumatic nor was I forced to do this Act”

Abdulhakim Muhammad: “called the shootings justified retaliation”

Pvt. William Long of Conway was killed in the June 1 attack in Little Rock. Pvt. Quinton Ezeagwula of Jacksonville was wounded.

Muhammad has called the shootings justified retaliation for U.S. military action in the Middle East. He told The Associated Press in a telephone interview last year that he doesn’t believe he’s guilty.

“I wasn’t insane or post traumatic nor was I forced to do this Act,” Mr. Muhammad said in a two-page, hand-printed note in pencil. The attack, which he said did not go as planned, was “justified according to Islamic Laws and the Islamic Religion. Jihad — to fight those who wage war on Islam and Muslims.”
