Anti-gunners Now Going After Hunting Rifles

The hoplophobes continue to lie about their objectives and move the goal posts until everyone is completely disarmed, except for the government of course.

From Reason.com:

BrothersCalifornia Gov. Jerry Brown will soon decide whether to sign a bill that expands his state’s “assault weapon” ban to cover any centerfire rifle with a detachable magazine.

Hunting Calibers Hard To Find?

It’s not just .223 that is in short supply.

From Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:

Shotgun loads for shot and rifled slugs remain easy to find. But reflecting a national trend, availability of rifle and handgun ammunition in Pittsburgh area sporting goods stores is spotty and inconsistent. Many shelves are empty. A clerk at one local store, who asked that he and the retailer remain anonymous, said customers are going from store to store searching for common calibers and sometimes not finding them.

Hypocrites in Maryland

The voters of Maryland elected anti-gun representatives and now those citizens are rushing to buy as many guns as possible before the new draconian gun laws go into effect. Why do these people keep electing anti-gun politicians? We see the same thing every time in those states that pass anti-gun legislation. The laws are passed and then there is a rush to get as many guns before the laws actually take effect. This could all be avoided if the voters would just stop electing liberty hating statists to office.

Anthony Bourdain Talks Sense About Guns

Bourdain has an written a calm article about American gun culture on his personal weblog. He admits that he is a “lefty” and that he likes guns. Why does he like them? Because he has experience with them and it is plain fun. The article is written by a liberal for liberals, to try and slowly nudge them towards the idea that most gun owners are sane. He does a good job of talking about the people and not the object of hatred that gets people so fired up. His article gives me hope that we can find some common ground, it just might take some time.

.22 AK Trainer

From AllOutdoor.com:

GSG AK47-22 currently imported by ATI is the logical offering for the training market. Designed to mimic controls and overall feel of the 7.62 and 5.45 AK rifles, it appeals most to those who train CQB extensively and burn up significant amounts of ammunition in the process. However scarce and expensive 22LR has recently become, it is still far more affordable than centerfire ammunition. Rimfire ammunition also erodes range backstops substantially less, allowing indoor carbine training at pistol-only facilities.
