Smith and Wesson Finally Leaves Maryland For Tennessee

Mark Smith, President and Chief Executive Officer, said “This has been an extremely difficult and emotional decision for us, but after an exhaustive and thorough analysis, for the continued health and strength of our iconic company, we feel that we have been left with no other alternative.” He specifically cited legislation recently proposed in Massachusetts that, if enacted, would prohibit the company from manufacturing certain firearms in the state.

Professor Tries To Denigrate “Molon Labe” Slogan Used By Gun Rights Activists

Amid the banners, flags and emblems displayed at the Jan. 6 insurrection, it was strange, especially for a classicist like myself, to see some in ancient Greek. The phrase molon labe, “come and take [them]”—a phrase attributed to King Leonidas of Sparta, in reply to demands he lay down his arms—was on full display there, as it has often been elsewhere, including on the face masks of Marjorie Taylor Greene. Dozens of products—T-shirts, decals, epaulets, bumper stickers, tattoo templates, and, oddly enough, noise-canceling headphones—now bear the slogan.

Colorado Court Rules Against 3 Month Long Surveillance

Last week, the Colorado Supreme Court ruled, in a case called People v. Tafoya, that three months of warrantless continuous video surveillance outside a home by the police violated the Fourth Amendment. We, along with the ACLU and the ACLU of Colorado, filed an amicus brief in the case.
