Oregon: Loaded Guns In Public Forbidden

From OregonLive.com:

“The ordinance reflects a legislative determination,” the justice wrote, “that the risk of death or serious injury to members of the public moving about in public places is increased by the threat posed by individuals who recklessly fail to unload their firearms.”

Let me get this straight. Having a loaded weapon is “reckless”?

Get The Hell Out Of California

The elected officials there have bankrupted the state and are now determined to prevent the people from protecting themselves.

From The Daily Caller:

California gun owners and sportsmen are quickly running out of time to contact your state legislators and stop draconian legislation from passing in Sacramento.  With both the state Senate and Assembly now back to work, anti-gun legislators are moving fast to build momentum to railroad passage of severe anti-gun legislation.

An Armed Citizenry Is Peace

From Daily Reckoning:

The entire criminal justice system depends on legal violence, and gun control is no exception. Somehow, many modern liberals who recognize the problems of using police power against drug users or illegal immigrants, or who show concern that law enforcement employs overbearing force against petty criminals, ignore the reality that gun control fundamentally entails physical coercion against mostly peaceful people.

ATF Seeking Comments on Revising Form 5320.1 (SBR/SBS)

The ATF is trying to make the process easier for applicants and the ATF itself. From Guns.com:

What are the proposed changes?  They’re simple, really.  They want to accept electronic payments to pay the transfer tax by credit or debit card.  They also want to reduce redundancy by combing information currently captured on another form.  And they want to change the size of the form itself to 8.5 x 14.

NSA Admits Spying On More People Than Previously Reported

From The Atlantic:

But Inglis’ statement was new. Analysts look “two or three hops” from terror suspects when evaluating terror activity, Inglis revealed. Previously, the limit of how surveillance was extended had been described as two hops. This meant that if the NSA were following a phone metadata or web trail from a terror suspect, it could also look at the calls from the people that suspect has spoken with—one hop. And then, the calls that second person had also spoken with—two hops. Terror suspect to person two to person three. Two hops. And now: A third hop.
