California Is Coming For Your Guns
The anti-gun bigots in the state of California continue to propose ludicrous laws that will make it harder for citizens to exercise their rights.
From Reason.com:
The piece detailed the California’s Department of Justice’s APPs (Armed and Prohibited Persons) program that sends armed agents to the doors of Californians “who at one time purchased firearms legally, but have since run afoul of the law.†It’s a first-in-the-nation program by which state officials cross-reference government crime databases. An agent might show up at the door of a person who legally purchased a gun, but was later deemed mentally ill or was convicted of domestic violence.
“Using a weapon in self defense is absurd”
From Colorado Peak Politics:
But near the end of the interview, Hullinghorst lets her guard down and says, “The thought that the only way we can protect ourselves is to wield our own weapon is completely absurd and an argument that I absolutely discount as frivolous.†Apparently, Senator Evie Hudak’s notorious line that the woman testifying wouldn’t have been able to protect herself with a firearm anyway is more common among Democrats than originally thought.
Chicago Police Chief: We will shoot anyone with a gun.

From BearingArms.com:
“You put more guns on the street expect more shootings,†McCarthy said. “I don’t care if they’re licensed legal firearms, people who are not highly trained… putting guns in their hands is a recipe for disaster. So I’ll train our officers that there is a concealed carry law, but when somebody turns with a firearm in their hand the officer does not have an obligation to wait to get shot to return fire and we’re going to have tragedies as a result of that. I’m telling you right up front.â€
NY SAFE Act Side Effect
Rod and gun clubs in New York state have seen a spike in memberships mostly involving women.
From Syracuse.com:
Bill Parfitt, president of the Camillus Sportsmen’s Club, said his club has maxed out at 800 members, and has a waiting list of more than 100.
“We could have 2,000 members if we wanted,” he said. “We took 10 new applications just last weekend.”

Would any elected official even consider saying this about the first amendment?!
ATF Arbitrarily Going After Legal Gun Parts

From World Net Daily:
…I cringe every time I hear someone who supposedly supports gun rights – from politicians to the head of the NRA – calling for the feds to “enforce the laws already on the books.†The fact is, the gun laws that are already on the books are a labyrinth of confusion and booby-traps full of open-ended mandates, ambiguous definitions and unbridled bureaucratic discretion.
Want To Transfer A Gun In Colorado?
The new law passed in Colorado that deals with “transfers” of firearms is now very similar to what you have to do in New Zealand. Don’t take my word for it. Listen to this guy:

Two Intruders Shot Dead In Houston

From Tea Party Economist:
This is the kind of welcome that should greet all such intruders in America, every time. It should greet all such intruders, all over the world, every time. If there were more greetings like this, there would be fewer intruders like this.
NSSF Sues Conn. Claiming Law Violates Conn. Constitution
From SFGate.com:
The National Shooting Sports Foundation Inc., which is based in Newtown a few miles from Sandy Hook, claims the emergency legislation was illegally passed in April without proper public input, time for adequate review by members of the General Assembly, or a statement of facts explaining why lawmakers needed to bypass the usual legislative process.
Illinois Legislature Overrides Veto, Approves Concealed Carry
From the AP:
Both chambers of the Legislature voted to override changes Gov. Pat Quinn made to the bill they approved more than a month ago. Even some critics of the law argued it was better to approve something rather than risk the courts allowing virtually unregulated concealed weapons in Chicago, which has endured severe gun violence in recent months.
Two Gun Companies Leave New York and Colorado
From Guns.com:
Kahr Arms, New York-based manufacturer of compact self-defense handguns and parent company of prominent gun makers Auto-Ordnance and Magnum Research, has confirmed their intention to leave their home state following the passage of strict new gun control.
HiViz announced their plan to relocate earlier this year to Wyoming, and now they’ve nailed down all the details of the move. HiViz makes high visibility sight systems for all types of firearms.
Obama Administration Sued By ACLU Over NSA Spying
From New York Times:
The lawsuit could set up an eventual Supreme Court test. It could also focus attention on this disclosure amid the larger heap of top secret surveillance matters revealed by Edward J. Snowden, the former N.S.A. contractor who came forward Sunday to say he was their source.
President Obama says he’s not Big Brother, NPR responds.
Posted by Gary in Comms, Law, News, Threat Watch on 11/Jun/2013 10:01
NPR is, in my opinion, the undisputed master of ultra-subtle propaganda. The publicly funded “News” organization is actually a chillingly effective tool of Collectivism and Big (Brother) Government. Effective because most of my right-leaning moderate friends can see no manipulation at all. After reading this piece on what NPR calls “Our Surveillance Society” you most likely will consider it balanced and objective. And yet I feel like a hound that can’t get the blaring tea kettle sound from two blocks away out of his head, while no one around him can hear it at all. Well at least they bothered to write something instead of ignoring it. That in and of itself, plus the exquisite subtlety of the propaganda, is an indication of just how onerous these unconstitutional actions are.
From: NPR
President Obama says he’s not Big Brother. The author who created the concept might disagree.
Addressing the controversy over widespread government surveillance of telephone records and Internet traffic Friday, Obama said, “In the abstract, you can complain about Big Brother and how this is a potential program run amok, but when you actually look at the details, then I think we’ve struck the right balance.”
