Marketing Bans Designed To Prevent Next Generation of Gun Owners

From NSSF:

California and Illinois laws that have banned advertising lawmakers in those two states consider to be targeted at minors doesn’t have anything to do with increasing public safety. It doesn’t have anything to do with fighting the criminal misuse of firearms. The laws are intended to do one thing – convince the next generation of Americans that the Second Amendment doesn’t exist.

Anti-Gunner Can’t See Past His Own Bias

From Common Dreams:

As I wrote in my journal the next day: “The gun society is a no-nonsense social dualism, precisely divided between good guys and bad guys.”

And despite the “love in the room,” despite the respect and patience the instructors showed to everyone present, despite the wisdom and clarity of their words—shooting is a “Zen process,” one of them said—the weekend’s essence was the reduction of life to that one reptilian option: fight or flight.

State Rep Urging People To Tattle On Friends and Family

From The Truth About Guns:

One of the gun control measures Rep. Stoneback helped push over the line before being elected was the Firearms Restraining Order Act, Illinois’ version of a red flag confiscation law. Once in office, she helped expand the law so that more people, including ex spouses and those with common children, can drop a dime on a gun owner and move to confiscate their firearms.

Now Rep. Stoneback is taking steps to make sure that all of her constituents know about the law and can easily petition a court to grab the guns of someone they know and love (or just someone with whom they have a beef).

Illinois FOID Challenged As Unconstitutional

From Chicago-Sun Times:

For more than half a century, anyone in Illinois who wanted to own a gun needed to first apply for a special state identification card.

But now the state’s top court is being asked to decide whether the Firearm Owner’s Identification cards — popularly called FOID cards — are a necessary safeguard or a violation of the U.S. Constitution.

Last week, a downstate judge ruled the FOID card system was unconstitutional, reducing residents’ Second Amendment rights to bear arms to a “façade.”

Chicago Gangs Make Pact To Shoo Cops Who Draw Weapons

From ZeroHedge:

According to an August 26 ‘situation information report’ from Chicago-based FBI officials, “members of these gang factions have been actively searching for, and filming, police officers in performance of their official duties. The purpose of which is to catch on film an officer drawing his/her weapon on any subject and the subsequent ‘shoot on-site’ of said officer, in order to garner national media attention.”

Anti-Gun Op-Ed Makes All The Wrong Arguments

From The Quad-City Times:

Anyone conversant with the English language would recognize this as the rationale for not infringing the right of the people to keep and bear arms.
With the rationale gone — states now maintain a National Guard for which weapons are supplied — it would seem the ground on which the amendment stands has caved. I’m surprised the Supreme Court’s “originalists” haven’t noticed this. They might also examine the argument for the amendment in the first place.

Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker issued an executive order last week requiring residents to wear masks in public effective May 1st. However, the order puts gun owners in jeopardy with Illinois firearms laws.

(9) Carries or possesses in a vehicle or on or about his or her person any pistol, revolver, stun gun or taser or firearm or ballistic knife, when he or she is hooded, robed or masked in such manner as to conceal his or her identity;  [Emphasis added]

Liberals Angered By Conservative Non-compliance

From The Washington Times:

Some on the left are angry, if not apoplectic, that conservatives are turning the tables on them and co-opting one of their own tactics against liberal policies. But turnabout, as they say, is fair play: Self-styled “progressives,” it seems, aren’t the only ones who can unilaterally decide which laws they will or will not enforce and/or comply with.
