Police Chief Won’t Enforce WA Gun Law
From KXLY:
The police chief in Republic, Washington said on social media that he won’t allow his department to enforce the regulations passed by voters under Initiative 1639, saying the new gun laws violate the 2nd amendment.
A Total Gun Ban Is The Goal
From The Federalist:
The tragedy at the heart of the gun control debate is that any firearm that can be used for good can also be used for evil. There are not good guns and bad guns. There are just guns, used by good and bad people. Any firearm that is effective for legitimate uses like hunting and self-defense will also be effective when used for evil purposes.
Nor can guns always be kept out of the wrong hands, for we cannot always know who will do evil, and those known to be hellbent on doing harm to others will often circumvent restrictions. Thus, the only realistic way to prevent mass shootings and end gun violence would be a total gun ban, ruthlessly enforced. Unfortunately, gun control advocates’ rhetoric is deliberately crafted to obscure this uncomfortable reality.
DC: 1,400% Increase In Permits
From Daily Caller:
The number of Washington D.C. concealed carry permit holders skyrocketed a little over 1440 percent since the District lost a key legal battle related to its previous restrictive gun permitting process at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia last year.
The Metropolitan Police Department confirmed to The Daily Caller Tuesday that 1,896 concealed carry permits were issued by MPD for the calendar year to date 2018.
Law Would Ban Gun Builds
From Ammoland:
H.R. 7115 reads: “To prohibit the sale, acquisition, distribution in commerce, or import into the United States of certain firearm receiver castings or blanks, assault weapon parts kits, and machinegun parts kits and the marketing or advertising of such castings or blanks and kits on any medium of electronic communications, to require homemade firearms to have serial numbers, and for other purposes.â€
Social Stigma Of Guns
From Ammoland:
…while Second Amendment supporters largely won the legislative battle in the wake of the shooting at Parkland, Florida, the opponents of our right to keep and bear arms made major strides in the stigmatization of the Second Amendment. The companies that pulled out from affinity discounts from the NRA (admittedly, some did so under pressure from the likes of Andrew Cuomo) didn’t just represent a discount lost, they represented a successful “othering†of Second Amendment supporters.
QT Hiring Armed Employees
From Guns.com:
The QuikTrip Corporation, with some 750 locations in a dozen states, is advertising for full-time store clerks in the Tulsa area who double as armed security. In short, besides an ability to “provide quality customer service,†among the primary role of the $35 per hour job is to protect the location and those in it. The chain has reportedly trialed the concept in Wichita, Kansas and it has already seen success.
Gun Grabbers Coming Back In 2019
From Associated Press:
Newly ascendant Democrats are promising congressional action on gun control amid a rash of mass shootings, including a late-night assault at a California bar that killed 12 people.
Ammo Control In Michigan
From Ammoland:
Davis’s “bullet bill†ordinance would require law enforcement approval before a buyer could purchase ammunition. The buyer would also have to go through a mental screening to qualify to buy ammo. The buyer would need to repeat these steps for each new ammunition purchase. The purchaser would be forced to cover the cost of the screening.
Red Flag Law Results In Police Killing Man
From Baltimore Sun:
Two Anne Arundel County police officers serving one of Maryland’s new “red flag†protective orders to remove guns from a house killed a Ferndale man after he refused to give up his gun and a struggle ensued early Monday morning, police said.
Gun Stores Prepare For New Restrctions
From KOMO News:
The owner of Wade’s Eastside Guns, Wade Gaughran, said the new gun restrictions under Initiative 1639 punish people who follow the rules and bump up the cost of doing business.
“Now we’ve got a law that’s going to cause problems for us and it’s going to cause problems for consumers and the impact on crime is going to be zero,†said Gaughran.
Veterans Day’s Origins
From Breitbart:
Many Americans have no idea why we celebrate Veterans Day on November 11. Those who know that the holiday began as Armistice Day typically think of it as a day of victory and peace.
Force On Force Training
From The Truth About Guns:
Force-on-force courses are stressful. You have to be ready for the unexpected without completely freaking out because, just like in real life, your Simunitions firearm comes loaded with a limited number of rounds. Sometimes you get a backup magazine to take into the scene and sometimes you don’t. That meant that under high stress, you had to not only discern what was happening and decide whether to shoot or not, you also had to make your shots count, and make them count in a situation involving many people, or near dark or dark conditions. You would also have to reload in the dark.
