Resisting Tyranny Is The Reason To Own “Weapons of War”
From The Truth About Guns:
With more and more states passing restrictions on the very sorts of common firearms that would be most suitable for repelling efforts to overthrow our constitutional republic, a renewed focus on this core purpose of the Second Amendment is overdue. This article aims to bring renewed attention to the overwhelming amount of founding-era and 19th century commentary that emphasizes the importance of the Second Amendment right as a tool to resist tyranny. In light of this clear history, so-called “assault weapon” bans and similar laws are incompatible with our historical tradition and should be struck down.
New York Times Admits “assault weapon” Was A Persuasion Tactic
From Bearing Arms:
In a stunning op-ed released Friday, the NY Times finally admitted that “assault weapons” are a made-up political term fabricated by anti-gun Democrats.
Op-ed writer Lois Beckett also admitted that once the term was manufactured and used to outlaw a class of weapons that dishonest anti-gun Democrats had used to con an entire nation, nothing happened.
Analysis Of The California Gun Ruling
From The Federalist:
Under the Heller test, this record establishes the unconstitutionality of the ban on assault weapons, Benitez concluded. However, being bound by Ninth Circuit precedent, Benitez continued to consider the constitutionality of California’s law under that appellate court’s two-prong test. In his analysis, Benitez bypassed the strict scrutiny standard, noting in passing the law would fail that test as well, to apply the “intermediate scrutiny standard†created by the Ninth Circuit.
Officer Pyle Explains “Assault Rifles”
Former LAPD Officer Pyle:
Massachusetts’s Ban On Defensive Firearms
From Cato Institute:
Massachusetts law currently prohibits ownership of “assault weapons,†the statutory definition of which includes the most popular semi-automatic rifles in the country, as well as “copies or duplicates†of any such weapons. As for what that means, your guess is as good as ours. A group of plaintiffs, including two firearm dealers and the Gun Owners’ Action League, challenged the law as an unconstitutional violation of their Second Amendment rights. Unfortunately, both a federal trial judge and appellate court upheld the ban—though they could not agree on why.
Sen. Booker Proposed Impossible Micro-stamping Requirement
From Bearing Arms:
As the New Jersey senator and Democratic presidential contender explains, “Microstamping is technology that allows law enforcement to identify the source of ammunition used in crimes by making a shell casing traceable to the specific gun that fired the round.†The problem is that such technology has not been developed yet in any practical and cost-effective form. So when Booker promises he will “fight to require that microstamping technology be incorporated into new models of semi-automatic handguns sold in the United States,†he is actually promising a moratorium on new handgun models until that dream becomes a reality.
Every Gun An “Assault Weapon”
Posted by Brian in Law, Opinion, Threat Watch on 5/Jul/2018 12:05
From Bearing Arms:
Following the Santa Fe High School shooter and the Capital Gazetteshooter both using shotguns, though, it seems that anti-gunners are trying to use that to open the door on broader restrictions.
Gun Owners Defeat Delaware Gun Ban
Posted by Brian in Law, News, Threat Watch on 27/Jun/2018 07:00
From Delaware Online:
If you want to know why Delaware Democratscouldn’t even get an assault weapons ban on the Senate floor for a vote, here’s why: Gun owners are the ones who showed up.
Look no further than the packed Senate chambers on Tuesday’s vote. Opponents of the ban far outnumbered supporters.
“Assault Weapon” Ruse
From Breitbart:
Gun control activists long ago discovered that if they use the term “assault weapon†to describe a firearm, the vast majority of people reading or hearing such term, will picture in their mind a rifle capable of fully automatic fire; this despite the fact that private possession of fully automatic firearms has been essentially unlawful for more than eight decades.
What Is An Assault Weapon?
Guns and Ammo asked that question to a bunch of people at the NRA meeting and these are their responses:
