The Attempt To Ban Ammunition Has Begun

Everything you need to know about the newspaper’s “investigation” is summed up in the story’s secondary headline: “In recent years, the factory has also pumped billions of rounds of military-grade ammunition into the commercial market, an investigation by The New York Times found, leaving the ‘LC’ signature scattered across crime scenes, including the sites of some of the nation’s most heinous mass shootings.”
In other words, mass shootings aren’t just the fault of the mass shooter. In NYT-world, the ammunition manufacturer somehow bears responsibility as well.
Russian Ammo Ban Is An Attack On American Gun Owners

If you’re ideologically committed to a course of action, like imposing restrictive policies, it’s frustrating when the people you want to hurt refuse to cooperate. It’s even more aggravating when some of the folks on your side lose faith and start doing the things you don’t like. If you’re clever and unwilling to compromise, you might then find a backdoor way to impose your will and, incidentally, prod your allies into line. By all appearance, that’s what we’re seeing with the Biden administration’s ban on imports of ammunition from Russia, an important source for America’s tight ammo market.
Dems Continue Assault On Guns With Online Ammo Bill

First, it would institute a program to require ammo dealers to obtain a license to sell their products to consumers. Current federal law only requires a license for those engaged in importing or manufacturing ammunition, not to sell, purchase, or possess. This would inevitably have the effect of trimming the number of legal vendors to the marketplace.
Next, Coleman’s bill would require face-to-face transfers of ammunition from licensed dealers to consumers, which is a departure from the common practice today of gun owners searching for deals through online sites such as Guns.com to fill their ammo needs. This would be further enhanced by a ban on shipping ammo to anyone without a license.
CA Background Check For Ammo Challenged

California’s new statewide law requiring background checks to purchase ammunition is facing a legal challenge supported by the California Rifle and Pistol Association. Among other complaints, the suit says the law, which went into effect last month, violates Californians’ Second Amendment rights.
California Town Becomes 2nd Amendment Sanctuary

When you think of “Needles, California†these days, your first thought is probably of the syringe-strewn streets of San Francisco, not the small town on the California-Arizona border. Needles actually made some news recently, though, thanks to the decision by city leaders to declare their home a “2nd Amendment Sanctuary.†As it turns out, Needles is having a hard time competing with its Arizona neighbors like Fort Mojave, Bullhead City, and Lake Havasu City when it comes to things like tax revenues from retail. Not surprisingly, Arizona gun owners would rather shop in Arizona (a constitutional carry state that also recognizes every other state’s concealed handgun licenses) instead of California, where Arizonans can’t legally carry a firearm. But gun owners in Needles are also being harmed by California’s gun laws.
California Bans Lead Ammo For Hunting
As a reminder to anyone hunting in California this year, the state’s full lead ammunition ban will take effect July 1. California’s lead ammo ban, which was officially signed as a new law in 2013, required the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) to gradually build up to a full prohibition.
Gun Control Activist Doesn’t Understand Rifle Ammo

We responded by pointing out “that all centerfire rifle ammunition pierces soft body armor†and asked Watts if she wanted “to ban all rifle ammunition used for self-defense, sport, and hunting?â€
Sen. Booker Proposed Impossible Micro-stamping Requirement

As the New Jersey senator and Democratic presidential contender explains, “Microstamping is technology that allows law enforcement to identify the source of ammunition used in crimes by making a shell casing traceable to the specific gun that fired the round.†The problem is that such technology has not been developed yet in any practical and cost-effective form. So when Booker promises he will “fight to require that microstamping technology be incorporated into new models of semi-automatic handguns sold in the United States,†he is actually promising a moratorium on new handgun models until that dream becomes a reality.
Gun Banners Now Obsessed Over Bullet Size

Poway Weapons and Gear Range in the San Diego area sold nearly half of the 1.2 million rounds of ammunition they had on hand within hours of opening on Black Friday, KGTV reported.
States Moving To Restrict Ammo

Ammunition laws are provided in several different flavors, all of which leave a bad taste in the mouth. Some, like those in D.C. and New York City, criminalize the actual possession of ammunition. Others, like legislation that just survived legal challenge in California, either tax ammunition or attempt to track it through microstamping–think tiny, engraved numbers. Although billed as measures to curb violent crime, the reality is that these laws are practically incapable of doing anything but raising costs and giving headaches to lawful gun owners.

Judicial Watch announced today that it filed a brief in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia asking the court to order the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) to produce more than 1,900 pages of records relating to the ATF’s proposed reclassification that would effectively ban certain types of AR-15 ammunition as armor-piercing.
