Dems Want To Ban Bulk Ammo Sales

The 13-page Ammo Act would echo California’s background check requirement – under threat of a fine of up to $250,000 – but use the FBI’s National Instant Check System as a vetting database. To help fund the massive increase in checks, the bill authorizes $150 million in additional funds for NICS. This would eliminate home delivery in most cases, forcing those who buy ammo online to have it delivered to a local FFL for transfer, inevitably with a fee. Those completing a check would have to show a valid identification and include their name, address, and signature on a form devised by the U.S. Department of Justice.
Further, the proposal would restrict what it deems to be “bulk ammunition sales” which it defines as “more than 100 rounds of .50 caliber ammunition or more than 1,000 rounds of any other caliber of ammunition in any period of five consecutive days.”
NICS Data Being Given To INTERPOL

NICS, in this case, is used to gather information on a U.S citizen or someone in the country legally who is eligible to buy a firearm. That intelligence is then supplied to a foreign law enforcement agency. It is unclear what INTERPOL does with the FBI-provided information, but it is clear that the target for the snooping is never informed that the FBI handed over their data to INTERPOL.
Georgia Senator Introduced Gun Owner Privacy Act

Loeffler’s bill, the Gun Owner Privacy Act, would ban the use of federal funds to store personal information collected during background checks attached to gun purchases. Federal agencies are already barred from creating a database of gun owners, but the legislation will give citizens recourse for any infringements on their privacy. While the law would not apply to Americans who fail background checks, those whose records are illegally stored will be able to sue agencies in federal court and collect damages.
Officer Claims Maine Used Gun Owner Data Illegally

A state trooper in Maine has filed a whistleblower lawsuit against the state police, alleging that the law enforcement entity illegally collected and maintained data on a number of residents, including those who had submitted background checks to purchase firearms.
New Database For Defensive Gun Use
