Ban of all traditional forms of ammunition? Toxic Substance Control Act of 1976
Posted by Jack Sinclair in Law, News on 29/Aug/2010 16:06
Barack Obama has teamed up with liberal special interest groups to use the un-elected bureaucrats in the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to ban all traditional forms of ammunition.
That’s right, Obama and his cronies are trying to ban ALL your ammo.
By using the Toxic Substance Control Act of 1976, they want to ban all hunting, target and self-defense ammo that contains lead, no matter how little.
Make no mistake — this is gun control at its worst.
Since your actions have stopped their plans to pass ammo and gun bans so far in congress, they’re using the old end-run.
Obama and his anti-gun cronies in the EPA know that by banning all but the most expensive ammo, they’ve effectively banned your guns in all but name.
And they’ve certainly destroyed the red-blooded American past time of just plain shooting.
To make matters worse, the anti-gunners are hoping to sneak this attack on our Second Amendment Rights through as a bureaucratic rule change.
They know that when they introduce gun control as legislation that gun owners like you and I have tremendous grassroots power.
The anti-gun lobby knows that is you keep the heat on congress most members of Congress will be afraid of angering gun owners so close to an election.
So they’re simply bypassing the democratic, legislative process all together by counting on bureaucrats in the EPA to do their anti-gun dirty work.
Think this doesn’t apply to you? Think again.
The goal of this rule change is simple: drive the price of ammo through the roof for all but law enforcement and the military.
Virtually all hunting, target and self-defense ammo has some lead components.
They’re trying to disarm us one bullet at a time.

Trial For USS Cole Bomber Delayed
Posted by Brian in News, Threat Watch on 27/Aug/2010 15:51
From the Washinton Post:
The Obama administration has shelved the planned prosecution of Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri, the alleged coordinator of the Oct. 2000 suicide attack on the USS Cole in Yemen, according to a court filing.
We can’t prosecute an obvious act of war against a United States warship, it’s no wonder we can’t rebuild the World Trade Center.
Last U.S. Combat Brigade Pulls Out Of Iraq
Posted by Jack Sinclair in News on 19/Aug/2010 02:04
“KHABARI CROSSING, Kuwait — As their convoy reached the barbed wire at the border crossing out of Iraq on Wednesday, the soldiers whooped and cheered. Then they scrambled out of their stifling hot armored vehicles, unfurled an American flag and posed for group photos.
For these troops of the 4th Stryker Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, it was a moment of relief fraught with symbolism. Seven years and five months after the U.S.-led invasion, the last American combat brigade was leaving Iraq”

Saddam Hussein’s right-hand man, Tariq Aziz: US is “leaving Iraq to the wolves”
Posted by Jack Sinclair in News on 6/Aug/2010 01:54
“Saddam Hussein’s right-hand man, Tariq Aziz, has accused Barack Obama of ‘leaving Iraq to the wolves’ by pulling out combat troops from the country.
Iraq’s former deputy prime minister said the United States would destroy the country if it pressed on with the policy of withdrawing combat forces to concentrate on the war in Afghanistan.
The late dictator’s henchman said that he had been initially encouraged when Mr Obama was elected president, because he thought he was going to correct some of former president George Bush’s ‘mistakes’.

Ilegal Immigration: Americans Fed Up With Government’s Failure
Posted by Jack Sinclair in Opinion on 4/Aug/2010 03:11
by Rory Cripps
“According to various estimates, there are currently 10 to 12 million illegal immigrants in the U.S. Most of those illegal immigrants are from Mexico and Central America.
What is painfully clear to the American people is that both the Bush and Obama administrations, and those before them, have in effect refused to enforce the U.S. immigration statutes unless one believes that an enforcement rate of 2 percent is something to write home about.

Dan Plesch: “They are gearing up totally for the destruction of Iran,†Fidel Castro warns of immenent war
Posted by Jack Sinclair in News on 11/Jul/2010 16:25
“They are gearing up totally for the destruction of Iran,†according to Dan Plesch, director of the Centre for International Studies and Diplomacy at the University of London.
“US bombers and long range missiles are ready today to destroy 10,000 targets in Iran in a few hours,†he said. “The firepower of US forces has quadrupled since 2003,†accelerating under Obama.
The Arab press reports that an American fleet (with an Israeli vessel) passed through the Suez Canal on the way to the Persian Gulf, where its task is “to implement the sanctions against Iran and supervise the ships going to and from Iran.†British and Israeli media report that Saudi Arabia is providing a corridor for Israeli bombing of Iran (denied by Saudi Arabia).
The Obama administration has been rapidly expanding its offensive capacity in the African island of Diego Garcia, claimed by Britain, which had expelled the population so that the US could build the massive base it uses for attacking the Middle East and Central Asia.
The Navy reports sending a submarine tender to the island to service nuclear-powered guided-missile submarines with Tomahawk missiles, which can carry nuclear warheads. Each submarine is reported to have the striking power of a typical carrier battle group.
According to a US Navy cargo manifest obtained by the Sunday Herald (Glasgow), the substantial military equipment Obama has dispatched includes 387 “bunker busters†used for blasting hardened underground structures. Planning for these “massive ordnance penetrators,†the most powerful bombs in the arsenal short of nuclear weapons, was initiated in the Bush administration, but languished. On taking office, Obama immediately accelerated the plans, and they are to be deployed several years ahead of schedule, aiming specifically at Iran.
Fidel Castro is warning of an imminent war in the Persian Gulf. Released yesterday, this document reveals that Iran, Cuba, Chavez and their Axis are truly scared that the political war will soon be over and Iran will soon face punishment for their defiance.”

Five US soldiers killed in Afghanistan attacks – June worst month for casualties since 2001
Posted by Jack Sinclair in News on 10/Jul/2010 11:57
Five US soldiers have been killed in separate incidents of violence in Afghanistan, Nato has said.
Three died in east Afghanistan and two were killed in separate roadside bombings in the south.
More than 350 Nato soldiers have been killed this year.
In other violence, gunmen killed 11 Pakistani Shia tribesmen in the east and one person was killed by a motorbike bomb in Kandahar.
Also on Saturday, hundreds of Afghans took to the streets of the northern city of Mazar-i-Sharif in protest at increasing civilian deaths.
The 30-Year War in Afghanistan

By George Friedman
The Afghan War is the longest war in U.S. history. It began in 1980 and continues to rage. It began under Democrats but has been fought under both Republican and Democratic administrations, making it truly a bipartisan war. The conflict is an odd obsession of U.S. foreign policy, one that never goes away and never seems to end. As the resignation of Gen. Stanley McChrystal reminds us, the Afghan War is now in its fourth phase.
The Afghan War’s First Three Phases
The first phase of the Afghan War began with the Soviet invasion in December 1979, when the United States, along with Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, organized and sustained Afghan resistance to the Soviets. This resistance was built around mujahideen, fighters motivated by Islam. Washington’s purpose had little to do with Afghanistan and everything to do with U.S.-Soviet competition. The United States wanted to block the Soviets from using Afghanistan as a base for further expansion and wanted to bog the Soviets down in a debilitating guerrilla war. The United States did not so much fight the war as facilitate it. The strategy worked. The Soviets were blocked and bogged down. This phase lasted until 1989, when Soviet troops were withdrawn. Two views on McChrystal’s firing – through the eyes of business leaders
Posted by Jack Sinclair in News, Opinion on 25/Jun/2010 01:48
Clint Greenleaf, Founder and CEO, Greenleaf Book Group
“First off, lets be honest. It’s not accepting a resignation, it’s firing the general for one specific comment made (and several from unnamed sources who work for him).
The specific comment wasn’t bad. It was what McChrystal thought was accurate — that the president doesn’t know as much as he should about the war. True or not, I don’t think he was out of line at all. In fact, he tried to make the same point to Obama during their first meeting.
I have the highest respect for our military and think the president made a huge mistake. It makes him look petty and insecure that he can’t handle someone who disagrees with him.
“As a CEO, I relish an opportunity to hear what my staff really thinks. Especially when it comes from a respected person who is good at what they do.
Anyone who has met me knows I’m not perfect — and my staff isn’t there to hide my flaws from me. They work with me to show me where I can improve, and if that means calling me out when I make a mistake, I want to hear about it. Even if it’s in public, and even if it makes me look like I made a mistake.
“The real question is, what is more important? To make the right decisions for the country or to try to protect the image of our leader?”
Rob Adams, Director, Global Moot Corp Program at the University of Texas
“I think the context needs to be set here — this is a military organization with an established chain of command that follows orders from the top.
All the commentary on the situation pointed to those in the military understanding this and expecting severe action, and those more on the commercial side expecting lass harsh action.
The real question is, What would McChrystal have done to those reporting to him in the same situation? I suspect similar treatment to what Obama did.”
The bottom line for President Obama was, “I welcome debate among my team, but I won’t tolerate division.”

“Whatever happens, we just keep doing our jobâ€
Posted by Jack Sinclair in News on 22/Jun/2010 18:54
Politicians squabble and play political game. Soldiers simply keep on doing what they are there to do, and ignore the bull****.
“The top US and NATO commander in Afghanistan, Gen. Stanley McChrystal, has been recalled to Washington to explain controversial remarks he made about leading Obama administration figures. But those on the front lines of the war say that the political squabble and inevitable fallout to come means little for them or the mission ahead.
But Canadian soldiers stationed in Kandahar Province, the birthplace of the Taliban and currently home to the war’s most intense fighting, mostly shrugged off the political firestorm.
“Whatever happens, we just keep doing our job,†says Canadian Army Master Cpl. Mathieu Jacob of Cap-Pelé, Canada. “Our job is our job.â€

UN Treaty Is Backdoor Gun Ban For USA
Via Big Government:
Gun owners might not feel besieged right now, but they should be very concerned. Last week the Obama administration announced its support for the UN Small Arms Treaty. This treaty poses real risks for freedom and safety in the United States as well as the rest of the world.
The UN’s solution isn’t too surprising when one looks at the long list of notorious totalitarian regimes, such as Syria, Cuba, Rwanda, Vietnam, Zimbabwe, and Sierra Leone, which support these “reforms.†But not all insurgencies are “bad.†To ban providing guns to rebels in totalitarian countries is like arguing that there is never anything such as a just war.
Army Exercise Targets Tea Party as Terrorists
Posted by Gary in Law, News, Opinion, Threat Watch on 29/Apr/2010 13:14
From: The Patriot Post
This week, I was contacted by a number of military personnel, enlisted and officer ranks, who expressed concern about a military exercise underway at Ft. Knox, the U.S. Bullion Depository. As with most such exercises, the Ft. Knox alert occurred in stages, as if real time intelligence was being provided at various intervals.
The first intel advisory was issued on Friday, 23 April 2010, and identifies the terrorist threat adversaries as “Local Militia Groups / Anti-Government Protesters / TEA Party.”
You read that right: “TEA Party”!
The alert states that plans for the demonstration may have been interrupted by “Federal and local law enforcement” raids on a “White Supremacists Organization,” but “TEA Party organizers have stated that they will protest at the Gold Vault at a future date.”
… Further, the intel advisory states, “Anti-Government – Health Care Protesters have stated that they would join the TEA Party as a sign of solidarity.”
… As one put it, the exercise “misrepresents freedom loving Americans as drunken, violent racists — the opponents of Obama’s policies have been made the enemy of the U.S. Army.”
They were equally concerned that command staff at Ft. Knox had signed off on this exercise, noting, “it has been issued and owned by field grade officers who lead our battalions and brigades,” which is to say many Lieutenant Colonels saw this order before it was implemented.
… One officer insisted, “The American people should require greater accountability of their commissioned officers, that they abide by their oath and never allow politically motivated propaganda like this exercise on any post or base again.”
Another observed, “Whether this is complacency by officers who do not see such orders as a problem, or worse, officers who recognize the problem but do not insist the orders are changed, this is a serious problem. We are discussing the training of American citizen soldiers in the use of potentially deadly force against a specific group of political dissenters. There is never a time in an officer’s career in which he does not have a duty to apply critical thought to the orders he is given and asked to give. It is my opinion that any officer that has allowed these orders to persist, to reach the level of junior officers and soldiers, has demonstrated a lack of judgment or apathy towards what his duty requires of him. Either way, we should demand more of the commissioned officers, who we as a nation empower to lead our sons and daughters into battle.”
