Yet Red Sox president Sam Kennedy told The Boston Herald that the team had spoken to Martinez about being more cautious on social media. The question is: Why should an athlete be subjected to warnings from his team’s owner—or a nonsensical controversy ginned up by some reporters—for showing appreciation of an enduring American value?

Pink Pistols Merges With Operation Blazing Sword
From Guns.com:
The two organizations announced their merger at the 33rd Annual Gun Rights Policy Conference held in Chicago in late September. Accompanying the merger was the announcement that current First Speaker for Pink Pistols, Gwen Patton, would be stepping down from her leadership role. In her place, Operation Blazing Sword founder Erin Palette will be stepping in as coordinator for the Pink Pistols.
LA Times: Australian Gun Control Won’t Work Here
From The LA Times:
Mass shootings get the most attention, but they account for a tiny fraction of total gun deaths in the U.S., data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show. Among the nation’s 36,252 firearms-related fatalities in 2015, 61% were suicides and most of the rest were ordinary homicides.
Neither of those kinds of deaths actually fell in Australia as a result of the National Firearms Agreement, researchers reported Tuesday in the American Journal of Public Health.
Mother Kills Child Molester
From ABC 14:
Startled, the man turned around to face the mother, at which point she fired directly into his face, blowing off most of his head. The rapist – a 53 year old sex offender known to police for a series of crimes on young victims – died instantly.
Background Checks Aren’t Working
From Bearing Arms:
If background checks were the least bit effective, then maybe expanding background checks might make sense. But they haven’t done a whole hell of a lot.
It doesn’t do a thing to deal with black market guns. It doesn’t prevent the theft of firearms from law-abiding gun owners–you know, the people who passed their background checks in the first place.
They Want To Ban Guns – More Proof
From The New Republic:
Ban guns. All guns. Get rid of guns in homes, and on the streets, and, as much as possible, on police. Not just because of San Bernardino, or whichever mass shooting may pop up next, but also not not because of those. Don’t sort the population into those who might do something evil or foolish or self-destructive with a gun and those who surely will not. As if this could be known—as if it could be assessed without massively violating civil liberties and stigmatizing the mentally ill. Ban guns! Not just gun violence. Not just certain guns. Not just already-technically-illegal guns. All of them.
NYC Racial Bias In Gun Permits
From The Daily Caller:
Back in April, attorney Peter Howard Tilem, wrote on the New York Criminal Attorney Blog that in February of 2017, “during a hearing at the NYPD License Division offices before an NYPD hearing officer, a Detective assigned to the investigation section of the License Division testified under oath about using dismissed arrests as a basis to recommend revocation of an African-American license holder’s license.â€
NYC Prop Maker Arrested For “Printing” A Gun
From NY Post:
Things weren’t very Hakuna Matata at Broadway’s iconic “The Lion King†on Friday afternoon, when cops stormed the theater to arrest a props worker for allegedly trying to make a gun with a 3D printer, The Post has learned.
Texas AG Allows Armed Election Judges
From Bearing Arms:
Two things tell us that we live in a free society: elections and private firearm ownership. Neither of those things really takes place in despotic societies. Some might create the trappings of democracy, but it’s funny how often the party in power wins those elections despite widespread opposition. None, however, are big on guns.
Levi’s Donates To Gun Control Movement
Posted by Brian in News, Threat Watch on 7/Sep/2018 07:00
From Guns.com:
Iconic jeans maker Levi Strauss doubled down on its support for gun control Tuesday, pledging some $1 million to support groups to advance the cause. “You may wonder why a company that doesn’t manufacture or sell guns is wading into this issue, but for us, it’s simple. Americans shouldn’t have to live in fear of gun violence,†said Levi’s president and chief executive Chip Bergh in an op-ed published in Fortune. “It’s an issue that affects all of us—all generations and all walks of life.â€
The Powers That Be Are Trying Everything To Stop Defense Distributed
From Lawfare Blog:
Cody Wilson’s legal battle to post his plastic gun schematic is awful, pitting speech values against human lives, raising the specter of more mass shootings, and casting a dark shadow on what should be the bright new technology of 3-D printing. In times like these, it’s tempting to wish that a few magic words could make the schematic—and all its legal and moral baggage—simply disappear.
California Increases Gun Age To 21
From Guns.com:
A series of four anti-gun bills were approved late this week and are heading to Gov. Jerry Brown for signature. The measures — Assembly Bill 2888 and Senate Bills 221, 1100, and 1177 — passed the state legislature and now head to the state’s Democratic governor for further consideration.

The Militia Clause
From Mises.org:
Fearful that a large federal military could be used to destroy the freedoms of the states themselves, Anti-Federalists and other Americans fearful of centralized power in the US government designed the Second Amendment accordingly. It was designed to guarantee that the states would be free to raise and train their own militias as a defense against federal power, and as a means of keeping a defensive military force available to Americans while remaining outside the direct control of the federal government.
Professor Creates “Second Amendment Zone”
From The National Sentinel:
The Washington Times reported that the as-yet-unidentified instructor was removed from the classroom after shaming those carrying a firearm and attempting to establish a “Second Amendment Zone†to segregate them after accusing carriers of “absurd, antisocial, and frightening behavior.â€
