The Basic Freedom Defense Fund is working right now to recall the Colorado legislators who voted to strip Coloradans of their second amendment rights.
Feds Target Rural Areas For Gun Crimes
This maps from U.S. News shows that the feds targeted areas of less crime for prosecution and ignored the areas of high crime. Is this politically motivated?

Cops Denied Service at Restaurant
From Guns.com:
A Prince William County resident named Daryl LaClair was so outraged he wrote a letter to the executives of BW3 at their headquarters in Minnesota complaining about the incident. He also started a public awareness campaign to spread word of the company’s alleged mistreatment of law enforcement.
Another Anti-gun Mayor Arrested
From SurvivalBlog:
The latest news is that another member of Mayors Against Illegal Guns has been arrested. This time it was Mayor Craig Lowe of Gainesville, Florida, arrested for drunk driving. The arresting officer found the mayor sleeping it off, in his wrecked car. Lowe was one of 30 mayors recently featured in a Bloomberg-funded anti-gun commercial.
Colorado Boycotted By Hunters
From The Washington Times:
“There’s a united front of sportsmen that are tired of having their freedoms and liberties and fundamental rights taken away from them,†said Northwest Colorado hunting guide Chris Jurney in the CBS report. “That kind of unity among sportsmen is going to be big, and unfortunately for those of us who live here, we’re going to suffer the consequences of this misguided legislation.â€
An executive for the Outdoor Channel, Michael Bane, says he’s not filming the show’s four productions in the state any longer, CBS says. And hunters have started canceling their trips to the state, the Colorado Springs Gazette reports.
Proposed Laws Would Fire Sheriffs For Not Obeying Feds
Posted by Brian in Law, News, Threat Watch on 28/Mar/2013 08:50
From The Examiner:
The first effort emerged in Texas. Legislation proposed by Dallas Democratic Rep. Yvonne Davis would remove any sheriff or law enforcement officer who refuses to enforce state or federal laws.
Senators Hint At Fillibuster On Gun Legislation
From Politico:
“We (Sens. Rand Paul, Ted Cruz and Mike Lee) will oppose the motion to proceed to any legislation that will serve as a vehicle for any additional gun restrictions,†the three conservatives wrote in a copy of the signed letter obtained by POLITICO.
White House responds in predictable fashion:
“A vote ought to be held on all these elements,†said White House press secretary Jay Carney. “It is what the victims of gun violence deserve. I don’t think you could tell the families of those who have lost their children to gun violence — that bills like this might be filibustered.â€
Sikh Sues For Gun Rights On First Amendment Grounds

States Preempting Feds On Gun Laws
From CNSNews.com:
On March 12 and 14, the Senate Judiciary Committee passed both Sen. Charles Schumer’s (D-NY) “Fix Gun Checks Act,” which would criminalize all private firearm sales and Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s (D-CA) “Assault Weapons Ban.”
These bills have a long way to go before they become law – if they ever do – but states across the nation are introducing their own legislation to preemptively defeat any new federal gun laws.
Sen. Feinstein: “Legal To Hunt Humans”
From The Blaze:
“The time has come, America, to step up and ban these weapons. The other very important part of this bill is to ban large capacity ammunition feeding devices, those that hold more than 10 rounds. We have federal regulations and state laws that prohibit hunting ducks with more than three rounds. And yet it’s legal to hunt humans with 15-round, 30-round, even 150-round magazines. Limiting magazine capacity is critical because it is when a criminal, a drug dealer, a deranged individual has to pause to change magazines and reload that the police or brave bystanders have the opportunity to take that individual down.â€
Judge Napolitano On Self Defense
From Townhall.com:
To those who have killed innocents among us, obedience to law is the last of their thoughts. And to those who believe that the Constitution means what it says, the essence of this debate is not about the law; it is about personal liberty in a free society. It is the exercise of this particular personal liberty — the freedom to defend yourself when the police cannot or will not and the freedom to use weapons to repel tyrants if they take over the government — that the big-government crowd fears the most.
Let’s be candid: All government fears liberty. By its nature, government is the negation of liberty. God has given us freedom, and the government has taken it away. George Washington recognized this when he argued that government is not reason or eloquence but force. If the government had its way, it would have a monopoly on force.
