Governments Continue Encryption Propaganda
From Electronic Frontier Foundation:
This week, the U.K. government launched an unprecedented and deceptive effort to kill off end-to-end encryption. They’ve hired a fancy ad agency to convince people that encrypted messages are dangerous to children.
The explicit goal of the “No Place to Hide” campaign, launched on Tuesday, is to prevent Facebook from expanding its use of end-to-end encryption. Currently, Facebook’s WhatsApp messaging system uses end-to-end encryption, but other communications systems, including Facebook Messenger, are scanned and checked against a US government database, run by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), which identifies child abuse images.

Eric Clapton/Van Morrison Create Anti-lockdown Song
From National File:
Legendary rock-and-roll guitarist and vocalist Eric Clapton is collaborating with Van Morrison on a song called “Stand and Deliver†that is critical of United Kingdom’s laughably stringent COVID lockdowns and their effects on live music. Predictably, liberals on Twitter are seething uncontrollably over the news.
SAS Member Awarded Medal For Acts In Kenya
From The Daily Mail:
An SAS soldier who killed two Islamic militants during a terror attack in Kenya will be given one of the UK’s highest honours.
He will be awarded a Conspicuous Gallantry Cross, a bravery medal second only to a Victoria Cross, for his response to gun and grenade attack by al-Shabaab terrorists on the DusitD2 hotel in Nairobi on January 15.
UK Now Wants To Ban Knives
From Reason:
Despite a host of legal restrictions on firearms and knives, not to mention a society that increasingly resembles a panopticon in the thoroughness of the surveillance to which it’s subjected, the U.K.’s crime rates remain stubbornly resistant to reduction. Last year, London’s murder rate briefly overtook that of New York City—a feat likely to be repeated as crime continues its decline in the U.S.—and the latest U.K. figures show an increase in violent crimes committed with both guns and knives.
So, do right-thinking Britons propose loosening the country’s tight rules regarding self-defense so that people can more easily deal with two-legged predators? Hell, no. Instead, they want to ban pointy knives. Yes, really—churchmen, physicians, judges, and lawmakers want to tightly restrict or completely outlaw the possession of knives with sharp ends.
UK Bans More Guns
From The Truth About Guns:
In the land formerly known as Great Britain, the Crown has has granted royal assent to the Offensive Weapons Bill as passed by Parliament. This new law bans the sale and possession of lever release action and manually actuated release system weapons.
Scotland Succumbs To Mob On Hunter
From Breitbart:
Numerous respondents demanded that Scotland do something to stop such hunts from taking place. The outcry eventually grew strong enough that Nicola Sturgeon, the First Minister of Scotland, pledged the government would “review the current situation and consider whether changes to the law [for hunting such animals] are required.â€
Fox News reports that Scotland had now brought charges against Switlyk for “firearms offenses.†Police released a statement saying, “Following several complaints of wild goat ‘trophy’ hunting on Islay in (October), Police Scotland can now confirm that a 33-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man from the USA have been reported to the Procurator Fiscal for firearms offences.â€
European Jihadists: The Continuation of a Historical Trend

“European Jihadists: The Continuation of a Historical Trend is republished with permission of Stratfor.”
Summary
The threat of experienced militants returning to Europe from combat in North Africa and the Middle East is fueling debate about immigration and integration in Europe and strengthening xenophobic and nationalist sentiments. It is not a new phenomenon for Europeans to travel abroad to fight. Reports have circulated for months about the growing number of foreigners fighting alongside Islamists in places such as Libya and Syria. Most recently, Spanish newspaper El Mundo reported Aug. 5 that leaks by unspecified European intelligence services warned that terrorist organizations in Syria could be preparing international attacks, particularly in Europe.
