Today, Iran began mass-producing two kinds of high-speed missile-launching assault boats
Posted by Jack Sinclair in News, Opinion on 23/Aug/2010 18:44
Iranian State TV says Iran has inaugurated production lines for two types of assault boats - one dubbed Zolfaghar, after a famed sword, and a second named Seraj, or Light.
“WASHINGTON — The United States voiced concern Monday over Iran’s unveiling of new assault boats and an aerial drone, but said Iran’s arms buildup will backfire as its neighbors gang up against it.
Iran began mass-producing two high-speed variants of missile-launching assault boats on Monday, a day after Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad revealed a home-built bomber drone.”
Missles, Drones and Boats, oh my! (Not to mention Nuclear Power Plants) Those industrious Iranians have really been busy lately, building new devices of death and destruction. Not to worry, though: they follow a Religion of Peace! [taqiyya].

She was airlifted to Holmes Regional Medical Center and is expected to recover.
34 killed in Pakistan bombings
Posted by Jack Sinclair in News on 23/Aug/2010 18:06
“Reporting from Peshawar, Pakistan, and Islamabad, —
Three bomb blasts killed 34 people Monday in northwestern Pakistan, authorities said. Though no one claimed responsibility for the attacks, they came at a time when government officials have been warning that Islamic militants might try to exploit the strain that this summer’s catastrophic floods have put on the country’s military and government by unleashing a new wave of violence. One of the attacks occurred in South Waziristan, a tribal area along the Afghan border long regarded as a stronghold for the Pakistani Taliban. A teenage suicide bomber appeared at a mosque in the town of Wana where 200 worshipers were praying and detonated explosives strapped to his body, witnesses said. The blast killed 25 people and injured 36, hospital officials said.”
Faith: Two-legged dog that learned to walk upright inspires veterans with debilitating war injuries
Posted by Jack Sinclair in News, Warriors on 22/Aug/2010 22:36

Despite having only her hind legs, Faith the dog learned to walk and is an inspiration to wounded soldiers. Photo: YouTube
Faith is no ordinary dog. The labrador-chow mix was born missing one front leg, with the other so badly deformed that it had to be amputated when Faith was still a puppy.
Veterinarians suggested putting her down but Faith’s owner, Jude Stringfellow of Oklahoma City, instead taught the dog to walk on its hind legs.
Since appearing on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” in 2006, Faith has toured veterans hospitals in the U.S. to inspire servicemen injured in Iraq and Afghanistan. Now, Faith is set to travel to the U.K. to greet wounded British soldiers returning from the war in Afghanistan.
“Faith seems to inspire these young men,” Stringfellow tells Britain’s Sun. “It’s very emotional watching them respond to her. She shows what can be achieved against great odds.”

(CNN) — Two failed bomb attempts by the Somali Islamist group Al-Shabaab killed 11 militants around Mogadishu, Somalia’s transitional government said Saturday.

Another Al-Shabaab member was killed while planting a roadside bomb on Mogadishu’s Ansaloti bridge, according to the release. Authorities arrested two other individuals suspected of guarding the militant who died.”

Corrupt prisons in Mexico
Posted by Jack Sinclair in News on 22/Aug/2010 13:51
“At the heart of the problem is the river of bribes coursing through Mexican jails, from the few pesos inmates pay each day to get food and toilet paper to the fortunes that jailed drug lords pay to live in luxury or escape when they please.
“The authorities no longer control the prisons — the drug lords do,” said Pedro Arellano, a veteran prisoner rights activist. “The prisons have become officials’ petty cash box.”
In many of Mexico’s overcrowded prisons, drug suspects use money and influence to run their businesses from the inside, and to recruit new cartel members among fellow inmates.”

A list of the the worst attacks since President Felipe Calderon took office in December 2006
Posted by Jack Sinclair in News on 22/Aug/2010 13:48
“Below are some of the worst attacks since President Felipe Calderon took office in December 2006 and declared war on powerful drug cartels. Some 28,000 people have been killed in drug-related violence since then.
* Aug 18, 2010 – The body of the mayor of Santiago, a colonial tourist town near Monterrey, was dumped on a rural road, two days after he was taken from his home. Calderon condemned the killing of Edelmiro Cavazos, the latest attack on public officials in an escalating drug war.
* July 18, 2010 – Gunmen burst into a birthday party in the northern city of Torreon, using automatic weapons to kill 17 party-goers and wound 18 others. Mexican authorities later said those responsible were incarcerated cartel hitmen who were let out of jail by corrupt officials. The killers allegedly borrowed weapons and vehicles from prison guards and later returned to their cells.
* July 15, 2010 – A 22-pound (10-kilo) car bomb killed four people in Ciudad Juarez in a blast that was detonated by cell phone, the first such attack since Calderon took office.
* June 28, 2010 – Suspected cartel hitmen shot and killed a popular gubernatorial candidate in the northern state of Tamaulipas in the worst cartel attack on a politician to date. Rodolfo Torre, 46, and four aides from the opposition Institutional Revolutionary Party, or PRI, were ambushed on their way to a campaign event for the July 4 state election.
* June 11, 2010 – Two dozen heavily armed gunmen burst into a drug rehabilitation clinic in the northern city of Chihuahua and killed 19 addicts, ranging in age from 18 to 25.
* March 28, 2010 – Gunmen in northwestern Durango state killed 10 people, as young as 8 years old, after the pick-up truck they were traveling in sped through a roadblock on an isolated highway in the drug-producing “Golden Triangle” region.
* March 13, 2010 – Hitmen killed three people linked to the U.S. consulate in Ciudad Juarez in March, provoking “outrage” from U.S. President Barack Obama.
* January 31, 2010 – Suspected cartel hitmen killed 13 high school students and two adults at a party in Ciudad Juarez.
* September 15, 2008 – Suspected members of the Zetas drug gang tossed grenades into a crowd celebrating Mexico’s independence day in the western city of Morelia, killing eight people and wounding more than 100.

Threats to Mexican clergy: by Los Zetas, government authorities, mafias trafficking people
Posted by Jack Sinclair in News on 22/Aug/2010 13:43
“One day we found an iguana in the office. It had a paper tied to its tail that said: “Do not mess with us. That was the first time they threatened us,” complained the priest Blas Alvarado, pastor of Tenosique, Tabasco, in southeastern Mexico,
Father Alvarado runs a migrant shelter that cares for undocumented Central American migrants journeying to the United States in search of economic opportunity. Church run shelters are vital to the safety of these migrants who are easy prey for criminals that kidnap them for ransom. Those unable to pay are usually murdered.
Father Alvarado is under constant threat now for his advocacy and for his demands that the police and the military stop the kidnappings.
Next target of the US military: “Taliban is the home team here.”

“As Lt. Col. Peter N. Benchoff prepares for an assault next month into the birthplace of the Taliban, he doesn’t sugarcoat the hurdles his troops face in this crucial swath of southern Afghanistan.
“Security sucks. Development? Nothing substantial. Information campaign? Nobody believes us. Governance? We’ve had one, hour-long visit by a government official in the last 2 1/2 months,” the battalion commander says. “Taliban is the home team here.”
“Here” is 116 square miles (300 square kilometers) of Zhari, a district just west of Kandahar through which the insurgents funnel fighters, drugs, explosives and stage attacks into the city.”

Shaheed Hussain: FBI informant, key in catching “homegrown” Muslim terrorists

NEW YORK — Four Muslim men charged with trying to blow up New York synagogues and shoot down military planes will be reunited at their trial with someone who was in on the plot every step of the way: a wire-wearing FBI informant named Shaheed Hussain.
The government credits Hussain with rooting out radical Muslims at a mosque in Newburgh, a small town north of New York.
Authorities last year called the case a “chilling plot” involving “extremely violent men” who represented a growing, dire homegrown terrorism threat.

Homegrown Muslim terrorists, eh? Huh. I wonder where they grew…in a Lutheran church? Where’d they learn to be terrorists, who taught them this was a good thing? Maybe they picked it up from Sesame Street. Or maybe they learned it at a MOSQUE.
People are letting themselves get distracted by the diversionary tactic of, “We’re a religion, we’re a religion! A Mosque is just like a church, so let us build more.”
No, a mosque is not just like a church – because most churches don’t train terrorists to do all they can to destroy America.
Some of the very same people who rant about a Nativity scene threatening their liberty, or freak out because they think that a copy of the 10 commandments is a gross intrusion of religion into government, are calling for us all to be perfectly OK with building mosques and are completely blind, have no idea, what they are letting in the door with Sharia Law.
You think Baptists are pushy because they want to discourage the killing of unborn babies? You think Evangelicals saying “Homosexuality is a Sin” is oppressive?
Brother, you ain’t seen nothing yet.
Wait until dedicated Muslims start doing Allah’s work in the US, when they start killing gays because they don’t follow the Koran. And that’s just the beginning of how a growing Muslim influence could impact you. Do a little research on “dhimmi”, find out what a “dhimmi” is (hint: it’s you under Sharia Law)
If you think this is wild paranoia, then you need to look more closely at Europe and the UK, see how Islam is working out for them.
Iranian President Ahmadinejad announces Iran’s first domestically built drone bomber.
Posted by Jack Sinclair in News, Opinion on 22/Aug/2010 12:32

This photo released by the Iranian Defense Ministry, shows Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, as he speaks during a ceremony of inauguration of the Karrar, or striker in Farsi, which the Iran claims is the first domestically-built, long-range, unmanned bomber aircraft, at the Malek-e Ashtar University, 22 Aug 2010
“Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is hailing the country’s first domestically built drone bomber. The unmanned aircraft, unveiled Sunday, is the latest in a series of Iranian announcements of military advances.
The Iranian military displayed the drone, dubbed the Karrar – or “striker” – at a ceremony attended by top officials. State media say it can carry out long-range attacks up to 1,000 kilometers carrying a 200-kilogram bomb.
President Ahmadinejad called the Karrar a symbol of death to Iran’s enemies.”

First of all, does it seem strange to anyone else that they had this big unveiling at a University? Not making any inferences, just thought that was weird.
I certainly am glad that they have assured us that their nuclear plants are going to be used for peaceful purposes only [taqiyya] and they would never think of attacking anyone with nuclear weapons, even if they happened to accidentally make some [taqiyya] and really, they just want to get along, we don’t need to be at all anxious about them getting new missiles, new drones, all that stuff [taqiyya].
Once that new Cordoba House mosque is built, we will all learn how tolerant [taqiyya] and peaceful [taqiyya] Islam is. They just want to be part of the American Dream [taqiyya] and have no intention at all of trying to change or overcome or tear down our culture [taqiyya].
Anyone who thinks that or says anything negative is just an ignorant bigot who is willing to trash Freedom of Religion in America [taqiyya].
