Gun Sales Spike In Mass After Gun Ban Announcement
Posted by Brian in Law, News, Threat Watch on 21/Jul/2016 13:32
From WCVB:
The announcement prompted many gun dealers to head to their favorite shop to purchase a firearm. At the Four Seasons shop in Woburn, there was a line out the door. “We saw the email from Carl who said they wouldn’t be able to sell them after today,” Bruce Sterling said. “It seemed like it made a lot of sense to come and get an AR-15 today.”
Healey says the enforcement notice sent to gun sellers and manufacturers clarifies what constitutes a “copy” or “duplicate” weapon under the state’s assault weapons ban, including copies of the Colt AR-15 and the Kalashnikov AK-47.

Circuit Judge To Students: Ignore Constitution
Posted by Brian in Opinion, Threat Watch on 6/Jul/2016 07:00
From Judge Richard Posner:
I see absolutely no value to a judge of spending decades, years, months, weeks, day, hours, minutes, or seconds studying the Constitution, the history of its enactment, its amendments, and its implementation (across the centuries—well, just a little more than two centuries, and of course less for many of the amendments). Eighteenth-century guys, however smart, could not foresee the culture, technology, etc., of the 21stcentury. Which means that the original Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the post–Civil War amendments (including the 14th), do not speak to today.

Hawaii First To Put Gun Owners In Database
Posted by Brian in Law, News, Threat Watch on 28/Jun/2016 13:00
From Breitbart:
The database – called “Rap Back†– is run by the FBI and will alert Hawaiian law enforcement if a Hawaiian gun owner is arrested for a crime anywhere in the United States. Fox 59 quoted Ige saying, “This will allow county police departments in Hawaii to evaluate whether the firearm owner may continue to legally possess and own firearms.â€
This is how the slow boil to confiscation starts.
Pink Pistol Membership Rises In Wake Of Orlando
Posted by Brian in Law, News, Threat Watch on 26/Jun/2016 07:00
From Spero News:
The group says that its goals to help people “select a firearm, acquire a permit and receive proper training in its safe and legal use for self-defense.” In Atlanta, the Pink Pistols chapter has doubled to 230 as the city prepares for a Gay Pride celebration in October. Delta Airlines is one of the sponsors of the festivities.A member of the Atlanta Pink Pistols, Chris Willis, told CBS46 that since the Orlando massacre, not only has membership in his organization increased, but gays, lesbians, and persons of other persuasions have shown a surge in interest in self-defense and firearms.
Veteran: It’s A Citizen’s Duty To Be Prepared
Posted by Brian in Law, Opinion, Threat Watch on 25/Jun/2016 07:00
From The Truth About Guns:
Guns are a tool. I used them in the military to accomplish our mission and most of all, to protect myself and those around me. Law enforcement officers use the same tools for the same reason. As an American citizen; self-defense is a primary consideration. Civilian ownership of firearms also serves a mission. That mission is to be prepared to form the Reserve Militia to back up the Federal and State government’s forces. Without civilian ownership of military-type firearms in common use, their capability as a backup to the military is severely diminished.
Armed Bureaucrats Now Outnumber U.S. Marines
Posted by Brian in News, Threat Watch on 24/Jun/2016 14:00
From The Washington Free Beacon:
The “Militarization of America†report found civilian agencies spent $1.48 billion on guns, ammunition, and military-style equipment between 2006 and 2014. Examples include IRS agents with AR-15s, and EPA bureaucrats wearing camouflage.
“Regulatory enforcement within administrative agencies now carries the might of military-style equipment and weapons,†Open the Books said. “For example, the Food and Drug Administration includes 183 armed ‘special agents,’ a 50 percent increase over the ten years from 1998-2008. At Health and Human Services (HHS), ‘Special Office of Inspector General Agents’ are now trained with sophisticated weaponry by the same contractors who train our military special forces troops.â€
Open the Books found there are now over 200,000 non-military federal officers with arrest and firearm authority, surpassing the 182,100 personnel who are actively serving in the U.S. Marines Corps.
Supreme Court Chips Away At Fourth Amendment
Posted by Brian in Law, News, Threat Watch on 24/Jun/2016 12:48
From Rare.us:
On Monday, SCOTUS continued this assault on the Fourth Amendment. It concluded that even when the government admits a stop was illegal, it can still use that evidence to prosecute you.
Under Heien, the cops only had to prove reasonable ignorance of the law: “I didn’t realize stopping this person was illegal, but I found this evidence, so we should use it.â€
Now, under Monday’s Utah v. Strieff, even that charade is no longer necessary. Police can simply say: “Yeah, that stop was illegal, but I found this evidence, so we should use it.â€
This is all the more reason for citizens to familiarize themselves with jury nullification. You can learn more about it from the Fully Informed Jury Association (FIJA).

DOJ Redacts References To ISIS In Orlando Shooting 911 Call

From Fox News:
“I pledge allegiance to [omitted] may God protect him [in Arabic], on behalf of [omitted],” Mateen told the dispatcher.
Assistant Special Agent in Charge Ron Hopper defended the deletions.
“[Mateen] does not represent the religion of Islam, but a perverted view,” Hopper said, later adding: “Part of the redacting is meant to not give credence to individuals who have done terrorist attacks in the past. We’re not gonna propagate their violent rhetoric.”
NY Daily News Editor Claims PTSD From Firing AR-15
Posted by Brian in Opinion, Threat Watch on 21/Jun/2016 07:00
From NY Daily News:
Not in my hands. I’ve shot pistols before, but never something like an AR-15. Squeeze lightly on the trigger and the resulting explosion of firepower is humbling and deafening (even with ear protection).
The recoil bruised my shoulder, which can happen if you don’t know what you’re doing. The brass shell casings disoriented me as they flew past my face. The smell of sulfur and destruction made me sick. The explosions — loud like a bomb — gave me a temporary form of PTSD. For at least an hour after firing the gun just a few times, I was anxious and irritable.
The only reason it was loud was most likely due to an indoor range. If it bruised his shoulder it was because he wasn’t holding in properly due to poor instruction or ignorance.

Another Gun Ban Called For After Shooting
Posted by Brian in News, Threat Watch on 14/Jun/2016 17:07
From The Federalist:
It happens like clock work: as soon as there’s a mere whisper of a terrorist attack or a mass shooting, the usual suspects kick in to high gear. Their destination is always the same: a faraway land where a so-called assault weapons ban magically eliminates not only guns but also prevents guns from walking of their own volition, without need of human agency, into crowded places and killing people.
