Biden Team Working To Put ARs On NFA List

According to Oliva, members of the Biden transition team are already exploring options to place AR-15s and other modern sporting rifles under the National Firearms Act without legislation, instead using the regulatory power of the ATF to redefine the rifles themselves.
The AR As A Defensive Rifle

Handguns and shotguns usually become significantly less effective at 100 yards, which is problematic for defending large properties such as farms. Violent crime rates in rural areas rose above the national and suburban averages in 2016. Rifles make up for this disadvantage and, with the right ammunition, are also effective in shorter ranges. Defensive use, however, requires the ability to fire again — quickly and accurately — if one misses. Manually-loaded firearms are impractical for that purpose, especially without significant practice.
As other weapons may not be suitable, law-abiding citizens should be allowed semi-automatic rifles to defend themselves from realistic threats.

Canada Bans More Rifles

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced a gun ban today on 1,500 “military-style assault weapons.â€
Although there will be a two-year amnesty period to allow people to comply, the firearms included in the ban cannot be used anywhere as of today. “The market for assault weapons in Canada is closed,†said Public Safety Minister Bill Blair. “Enough is enough. Banning these firearms will save Canadian lives.â€
Biden Goes Full Gun Confiscation

What’s more, the man accurately references comments Biden made at rally on March 2 while accepting the endorsement of Beto O’Rourke. Biden said, “I’m going to guarantee this is not the last you’ve seen of this guy,†referring to O’Rourke. “You’re going to take care of the gun problem with me. You’re going to be the one who leads this effort.â€
How else can one interpret that except as an endorsement of gun confiscation? After all, it was O’Rourke who in a September debate boasted, “Hell, yes, we’re going to take your AR-15, your AK-47.â€
California Challenged On “Common” Firearms

Under the latest definition from California, all centerfire semiautomatic rifles are prohibited if they:
 Are on a list that bans guns by make and model, OR
 Have a fixed (nondetachable) magazine over 10 rounds, OR
 Use detachable magazines, and have one of the following features: a pistol grip
that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon; a forward pistol grip; a thumbhole stock; a folding or telescoping stock; or a “flash suppressor.”
