Opinion: How To Stop School Shootings
From The Truth About Guns:
In my humble opinion, if we truly want to stop school shootings we should harden the staff, not just the buildings, and we should focus on the other bad actors, too, not just the trigger-pullers. It’s time to start holding parents, law enforcement, and the legacy media strictly accountable – criminally, morally and very publicly – for aiding and abetting these preventable deaths.
An Epidemic Of Cowardice
From Men of Order:
But the Uvalde response was worse than anyone could fathom. An armed squad of 19 officers waited in the hallway just outside the classroom that the shooter had barricaded himself in.
And they did nothing.
They stood there for 40 minutes while the shooter slaughtered students and teachers in the classroom.
How To End Mass Shootings Quickly
From James Gagliano at City Journal:
The era of patiently awaiting arrival of homogenous, highly trained tactical-resolution teams outfitted with special equipment and superior training is over. To borrow Martin Luther King’s exhortation, police in Uvalde should have recognized “the fierce urgency of now.”
Black Americans Becoming More Pro Gun
From The Truth About Guns:
Although 60% of Americans favor stricter gun control laws, many more Americans are buying guns now and view it as an exercise of their rights. The exercise of those constitutional rights should not be allowed to differ based on race or ethnicity.
Imagine if the First Amendment right to free speech or religion varied by race.
Fenix Ammunition Takes A Stand Against Selling To Police
From En Bloc Press:
Fenix Ammunition shared a Penalty Notice from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services on Twitter the other day. Apparently a police officer “was dispatched†to their business in November of 2020. What prompted this dispatch is unclear. The police officer, Matthew Chaylaszek, reported seeing a sign on the door that read “We do not wear masks, make your own decisions.†Chaylaszek says he entered the shop and saw the owner, Justin Nazaroff, unmasked and helping a customer. Now, come January, they’ve been fined $1,000 by the State of Michigan for the mask violation. As a result, Fenix Ammunition has suspended ammo sales to law enforcement agencies.
NYC Bar Owner Arrested, Not Allowed To Do Business
From AP:
An owner of a New York City bar that was providing indoor service in defiance of coronavirus restrictions was arrested after a sting in which plainclothes officers went inside and ordered food and beverages, the city sheriff’s office said.
Protesters shouted as deputies arrested Danny Presti, the co-owner of Mac’s Public House on Staten Island, on Tuesday.
Are Gun Rights And Police Protestors On The Same Side?
From The Crime Report:
Protesters calling for stricter measures against police violence should be on the same side of the barricades as Second Amendment opponents of stricter gun controls, argues a Virginia law professor.
Since both fear the government’s â€monopoly of force†and are skeptical of authorities’ ability to protect citizens during times of unrest, they have an equal interest in Constitutional guarantees of the right to bear arms and protect themselves, Robert Leider writes in a forthcoming article in the Northwestern University Law Review.

Armed Self Defense In Light Of Law Enforcement Abdication
From David E. Berstein:
This article defends the position that the right of armed self-defense remains important today, in particular in light of the civil unrest of the Summer of 2020. The article proceeds in three parts. The first part will summarize arguments from various prominent commentators that the right to self-defense with firearms is anachronistic in the contemporary United States. These critics argue that Americans can and should rely solely on their local professional police force to protect them.
Body Armor Sales Dramatically Rise
From Business Wire:
Increased demand for body armor has allowed Body Armor Direct to manufacture in the USA and hire throughout the pandemic. “Manufacturing in the USA allows us to provide confidence the vest will perform in a time of need. We are under strict Governmental oversight†said Goldberg.
The election, pandemic, quarantine, civil unrest, and de-fund the police protests have increased demand. There are no background checks or holding period to purchase body armor. Body Armor Direct vision is to be the largest direct to consumer body armor company in the nation.
Black Man Scared To Carry Because Of Media Hype
From USA Today:
It has become clear to me that open carry and concealed carry are white privileges — permit or not. Despite having a license: I am afraid of being killed by police if I carry a gun in public.
I have good reason to be afraid. In 2016 in Minnesota, a Black school cafeteria worker named Philando Castile was killed during a routine traffic stop after merely mentioning the fact that he was legally in possession of a concealed firearm. Tamir Rice, a 12-year old Black boy in Ohio, an open carry state, was fatally shot by police in just seconds for holding a toy gun in 2014. That same year, John Crawford III was slain in a Walmart holding a BB gun that was for sale in the store.
There are too many more to mention.
Troubled Times For Policing
From National Review:
As turmoil mounts around Black Lives Matter agitation in American cities, more and more law-enforcement officers realize that in just about any encounter with black suspects, they risk being thrown to the wolves by craven local prosecutors, mayors, or police administrators, no matter how right or blameless they may be in the actions they take under pressure.
And the next time they see that cluster of surly young males hanging out on the corner, they may decide to just drive on by. After all, they can’t get suspended, fired, or indicted if they wait to take the report on whatever mayhem those suspects might commit.
Chicago Gangs Make Pact To Shoo Cops Who Draw Weapons
From ZeroHedge:
According to an August 26 ‘situation information report’ from Chicago-based FBI officials, “members of these gang factions have been actively searching for, and filming, police officers in performance of their official duties. The purpose of which is to catch on film an officer drawing his/her weapon on any subject and the subsequent ‘shoot on-site’ of said officer, in order to garner national media attention.”
