When To Introduce Guns
From Guns.com:
Working in the gun industry, people often ask me when they should introduce their kids to guns. What I’ve learned over the years teaching my own kids about the subject is that it’s different for every child. Through trial and error, I found that certain lessons help more than others. While introducing shooting to kids early helps, so does taking incremental steps so they learn and appreciate the sport.
Your Safety Is More Important Than The Rules
From Bearing Arms:
“She said, ‘This guy’s going to come back and shoot the place up,’ †Jason Nixon said. He encouraged his wife to hide a pistol in her purse and take it to work — she had training and knew how to use it — but she didn’t want to break city policy forbidding employees from bringing weapons to work.
Safe Students Act
From Guns.com:
The Safe Students Act, first announced in 2007 by U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, has been rebooted by Kentucky Republican Thomas Massie this week and re-introduced with seven co-sponsors. The move would repeal the 30-year-old “no guns allowed†zone around public, private, and parochial elementary and high schools nationwide. Backers argue the bill is needed to allow local governments and school boards to set their own firearms policy without Washington red tape.

By the end of February, the students at Manatee School for the Arts in Palmetto, Fla., will see two combat veterans in body armor roaming the grounds, each carrying a 9-millimeter Glock handgun and a semiautomatic rifle with a 17-inch barrel.
If an armed intruder were to enter the campus, “we’re not looking for a fair fight,†Bill Jones, the principal, said in an interview. “We’re looking at an overwhelming advantage.â€

Vice Adm. Mike Shoemaker, head of naval aviation, told Fox News in an exclusive interview that the training jet issue is the “number one safety priority†across naval aviation right now.

Don’t Mix .300 BLK And 5.56
From Bearing Arms:
Tom’s description of the rifle, magazine, and shooter eerily echo that of other 300 BLK/.223 kabooms I’ve heard of, and in each instance, it appears that lighter .300 BLK bullets can be chambered just enough for a firearm to fire, especially with handloads that might not be seated at the correct depth.
