Delaware Bans Semi-Autos For Hunting

From Gun Dynamics:

the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control last week poured cold water on that idea by announcing that only manually-operated rifles may be used such as lever-action, bolt-action, pump-action, single shot and revolver rifles.

This is an admission that semi-auto rifles were being used to hunt, when they said they weren’t. It appears the goal now is to ban them from hunting and then use that as an excuse the ban them everywhere.

LA Times: Australian Gun Control Won’t Work Here

From The LA Times:

Mass shootings get the most attention, but they account for a tiny fraction of total gun deaths in the U.S., data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show. Among the nation’s 36,252 firearms-related fatalities in 2015, 61% were suicides and most of the rest were ordinary homicides.

Neither of those kinds of deaths actually fell in Australia as a result of the National Firearms Agreement, researchers reported Tuesday in the American Journal of Public Health.

Texas AG Allows Armed Election Judges

From Bearing Arms:

Two things tell us that we live in a free society: elections and private firearm ownership. Neither of those things really takes place in despotic societies. Some might create the trappings of democracy, but it’s funny how often the party in power wins those elections despite widespread opposition. None, however, are big on guns.

Facebook Censors Gun Stories Based On Source Site

From Townhall:

CRPC decided to share a Fox News piece detailing the research they conducted on their Facebook page. The organization wanted to boost their post as an ad so more people would see the study’s results. That’s when Facebook’s bias became clear.

One of the ads CRPC posted was a direct link to their website where people could download the study’s results. Facebook quickly approved the ad and all was fine.

When the organization went to post an ad linking to a Fox News article that detailed the study’s results, the ad was not approved.

Amazon’s Gun-Blueprint Ban Is Dangerous

From The Federalist:

For $3, you can buy Karl Marx’s “Communist Manifesto,” a book that indirectly led to the deaths of upwards of 100 million people worldwide. You can also purchase a copy of the “U.S. Army Improvised Munitions Handbook,” which promises “step-by-step instructions on how to assemble weapons and explosives from common and readily available materials.” Amazon sells hundreds of books teaching readers how to build guns (and the website even sells many of the tools necessary to do it).

Seeing this precedent, I uploaded a 3D printable gun file to Amazon … as a book.

Doctors Call For Gun Ban

From Townhall:

And: semi-automatic weapons have no role in contemporary civilian life. For Winslow, the wounds conjure up painful memories of when, working in a front line hospital in a war zone, he was called to the morgue to pronounce death on casualties — coalition soldiers or American civilians — brought in from the field. He looked for dog tags, examined the remains and signed preliminary death certificates. He recalled the surgeon’s note that accompanied the body of a young U.S. Army captain, shot in the neck: “It was an honor to care for this brave American soldier. May God rest his soul.”

YouTube Bans Defense Distributed Press Conference

From The Washington Examiner:

The video in question, which has already been reposted by other accounts on YouTube, shows a press conference Wilson gave for a collection of reporters from major media outlets including the Associated Press, New York Times, Houston Chronicle, and others. The 46-minute video features Wilson explaining his reaction to a recent ruling by a federal judge forcing the State Department to abandon its settlement with Wilson, which would have allowed him to publish certain gun files, including his design for a gun made mostly from 3D-printed components, pending further legal action. After explaining that he would begin to sell the files online and sharing them over email or other secured means of transmission in response to the judge’s assertion that doing so would likely be legal, Wilson then took questions from the press for about 40 minutes.
