Bank of America Snitches On Gun Owners

From Ammoland:

FBI whistleblowers have come forward with damning allegations against Bank of America (BoA). According to Representative Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), the banking giant has been revealing information to the FBI about its customer’s gun purchases without a warrant.

Capitalists For Fascism

From Daily Reckoning:

Smaller and local shops could not afford to hire extra employees for such ridiculous jobs and needed to serve everyone who showed up. Only the well-heeled places could afford such antics.

They watched their bottom lines swell even as their competitors were crushed. It was the perfect embodiment of Milton Friedman’s dictum that big business is often the biggest enemy of genuine capitalism. They far prefer industrial cartels of the sort created during the lockdowns.

Assessing Risk

From Gun Curious:

I have been writing quite a bit lately about negative outcomes with firearms for my book on American gun culture. As I’ve stated repeatedly state on this blog and in various publications over the years, unlike most scholars studying guns, my starting point is not the deviance of guns but their normality.

The Case For AR15 Story Hour

From Handwaving Freakoutery:

Here’s the idea.

Get a guy in a Hawaiian shirt, a desert camo plate carrier, a helmet, night vision goggles, and an unloaded and safely carried AR-15 battle rifle, to sit on a chair in a library and read kids books to them, totally unrelated to guns. Fox in Socks, Berenstain Bears, whatever. Acclimate the kids to being around an AR-15, the way DQSH acclimates children to transgenders. That’s it. Nothing more.

Gun Control Is Dead Thanks To 3-D Printing

From Bearing Arms:

I’ve long argued that 3D-printed guns represent the death of gun control. After all, if the purpose of gun control is to keep firearms out of the hands of certain people–be that just criminals or, in time, everyone–the existence of 3d printers and the files one would use to make firearms means you’ll never accomplish that goal.

Anyone who wants a gun can get a gun and there’s absolutely nothing anyone can do to stop it.

Fifth Circuit Refuses “Prohibited Persons” Argument To Deny Gun Rights

The Fifth Circuit panel dismissed the DOJ’s assertion that the Second Amendment only applies to “law-abiding citizens,” noting that while that phrase does appear in both the Heller and Bruen decisions, it was used by justices as shorthand “in explaining that its holding (that the amendment codifies an individual right to keep and bear arms) should not “be taken to cast doubt on longstanding prohibitions on the possession of firearms by felons and the mentally ill, or laws forbidding the carrying of firearms in sensitive places such as schools and government buildings.” The text of the Second Amendment, on the other hand, specifically notes that the right to keep and bear arms is a right “of the people”; an important distinction given the government’s argument that virtually any criminal act, no matter how minor or severe, could result in a lifetime loss of Second Amendment rights.

NY Attacks First and Second Amendment With One Law

From Ammoland:

New York is tackling the 3D-printed gun community by trying to ban the 3D printing of firearms and prevent the sharing of computer-aided design (CAD) files.

New York State Senator Brad Hoylman is sponsoring the bill. The Democrat says he wants to “attack the manufacture” of 3D Printed firearms. It would not only make it a felony to print guns but also ban the intentional sharing of files, raising First Amendment concerns. Writings like the Anarchist Cookbook and the guide to build a Luty machine gun have been determined to be protected speech. Many believe that these files are also protected speech.

The Case Against Bullet Forensics

From Radley Balko:

Last February, Chicago circuit court judge William Hooks made some history. He became the first judge in the country to bar the use of ballistics matching testimony in a criminal trial.

Hooks isn’t the first judge to be skeptical of claims made by forensic firearms analysts. Other courts have put restrictions on which terminology analysts use in front of juries. But Hooks is the first to bar such testimony outright. “There are no objective forensic based reasons that firearms identification evidence belongs in any category of forensic science,” Hooks writes. He adds that the wrongful convictions already attributable to the field “should serve as a wake-up call to courts operating as rubber stamps in blindly finding general acceptance” of bullet matching analysis.

Hunter Biden Lawyers Make Pro 2A Defense

From The Truth About Guns:

If by some remote chance Biden-the-younger is actually charged by the Justice Department (don’t hold your breath), tens of millions of users of marijuana in states where it’s been legalized will have Hunter F-ing Biden arguing that under Bruen, the federal law banning gun sales and ownership by drug users is unconstitutional.

Biden’s lawyers aren’t stupid. They’ve surveyed the legal landscape and know that’s the direction things are going since the Supreme Court’s decision was handed down.
