Canada Reversing Gun Control Laws
From Sun News Network:
The act would limit the powers of provincial chief firearms officers, make all firearm licences possession-and-acquisition (PAL) licences, make it easier for legal gun owners to transport restricted firearms around their home province, provide a grace period to renew expired gun licenses, make the gun safety course mandatory for new shooters, and crack down further on domestic abusers owning guns.
CA Bill To Require Ammo Registration and “Permit for Purchase”
From NRA-ILA:
SB 53 would require the purchasers of ammunition to register with the state Department of Justice (DOJ) prior to purchasing any ammunition. This registration would require the submission of fingerprints, a background check and fees to the DOJ. If passed and enacted into law, SB 53 would require the collection and reporting of personal consumer information and thumbprinting for all ammunition purchases throughout the state. It would also ban online and mail-order sales of all ammunition, including hunting and collectible ammunition. In addition, SB 53 would require anyone wishing to exercise their fundamental right to keep and bear arms to obtain a costly ammunition purchaser permit that must be renewed every two years.

U.S. Senator Proposes Gun Law With Unproven Technology
Posted by Brian in Law, News, Threat Watch on 6/Mar/2014 08:05
From Boston.com:
The Gun Owners Action League of Massachusetts said the technology championed by Markey is often flawed and smart guns ‘‘only work correctly in the movies.’’
‘‘No technology should stand between a lawful gun owner using his/her firearm,’’ the group said in a written statement. ‘‘We also find it more than disingenuous that a senator with very little knowledge of firearms, who has worked to stifle the Second Amendment, would offer mandated technology that gun owners have not asked for, nor supported.’’
San Francisco Veteran Police Officers Association Files Lawsuit Against Magazine Ban
Posted by Brian in Law, News, Threat Watch on 27/Nov/2013 12:36
From NRA-ILA:
The Second Amendment-based legal challenge is part of a campaign of nationwide litigation filed and supported by a variety of law enforcement officers and associations to confirm that the Second Amendment protects these common standard-capacity magazines for self-defense and sport shooting.
Remington, Khar and ATI Bail on New York
All three gun companies are in the process of leaving New York state because of the “SAFE Act” and taking their tax dollars with them.
The Washington Free Beacon has the story:
“It is a law forced on rural New Yorkers by a liberal elite who opposes the principles of the U.S. Constitution,†Hempel said by email. “The majority of the state wants a hands-off, non-intrusive government, which does not interfere with their right to bear arms or crush business with harmful regulation.â€
Obama Administration to Purchase 600,000 AK Magazines
It hasn’t been that long since the President called for the ban of magazines capable of holding more than 10 rounds. Now the military is set to purchase almost 600,000 AK magazines to be sent to Afghanistan. He is comfortable with the military using those magazines to kill people but it completely against an American civilian having one to defend themselves.
From The Washington Examiner:
Army officials told Secrets that the 30-round magazines, which would be banned under Obama’s gun control proposals, are going to Afghanistan. But unlike the Pentagon’s controversial purchase of Russian helicopters for Afghan special forces, the Soviet-Russian-styled AK-47 magazines are likely to be purchased from an American firm.
Gun Control Fails To Prevent LAX Shooting
From Breitbart News:
All vehicle and pedestrian traffic into and out of the airport has been limited. LAPD is doing a sweep of the arrival area of Terminal 3. One witness, Robert Perez, said that TSA agents shouted that a man had a gun in the terminal. “I heard popping and everybody dropped to the ground,†Perez said. Another witness reported a dozen shots fired. A Federal Aviation Authority map already shows flight slowdowns thanks to the incident; the FAA was put on a ground hold.
CA: Rifles Not Covered By Second Amendment
From CalGuns Foundation:
California’s 4th District (Division 1) Court of Appeal held that the Second Amendment does not apply to semi-automatic firearms like “AK†platform rifles.
