This is Why Angela Giron is Being Recalled in Colorado

Minimum Age For Conceled Carry Is Not 21 In Every State

I was surprised to see this map from Dustin’s Gun blog that shows a state-by-state comparison of the minimum age for a concealed carry permit. A few states allow 16 year-olds to carry but I disagree with that low age. I do think the minimum age should be no greater than 18 when those same people are allowed to vote and fight in the military.

ATF Arbitrarily Going After Legal Gun Parts

From World Net Daily:

…I cringe every time I hear someone who supposedly supports gun rights – from politicians to the head of the NRA – calling for the feds to “enforce the laws already on the books.” The fact is, the gun laws that are already on the books are a labyrinth of confusion and booby-traps full of open-ended mandates, ambiguous definitions and unbridled bureaucratic discretion.

Teachers To Be Armed in Arkansas

From GOP.com:

Dougan is among more than 20 teachers, administrators and other school employees in this town who will carry concealed weapons throughout the school day, making use of a little-known Arkansas law that allows licensed, armed security guards on campus. After undergoing 53 hours of training, Dougan and other teachers at the school will be considered guards.

Starbucks Buycott

From The National Journal:

The “appreciation” here stems from Starbucks’ policy of respecting state gun laws in its stores, including open-carry laws in the states that have them. Starbucks does not, however, allow its employees to carry guns, or allow guns at company headquarters in Seattle.

NRA Files Suit To Allow Handgun Purchases By 18-year-olds

From Selling The Second Amendment:

The NRA, along with two nineteen-year-olds, aims to overturn the federal law that restricts the sale of handguns and ammo to anyone under 21 years of age. While individuals between the ages of 18 and 21 cannot obtain a handgun from a licensed dealer per the law, they can still obtain a gun through other channels. The law also does not prevent individuals between 18 and 21 from obtaining shotguns and rifles.”

Hypocrisy in the Constitution State

In the wake of the Newtown shooting Connecticut passed a bunch of new restrictions on firearms. New information now shows that the people of Newtown, and Connecticut, have flocked to the gun stores and are on pace to double total gun purchases from last year.

From The Daily Caller:

“So far this year, through July 24, more than 91,000 guns were authorized for sale statewide. At that pace, the state will surpass last year’s total by October,” the report continues.

Colorado Concealed Carry Permits Skyrocketing

From The Denver Post:

From January to June, 31,518 background checks were processed for concealed-carry permits by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, according to bureau data. For the same period last year, there were only 16,886 processed.

In addition, more background checks have been processed in the first six months of 2013 than in all of 2011 — and only 1,305 fewer than the total for all of 2012.

ATF Seeking Comments on Revising Form 5320.1 (SBR/SBS)

The ATF is trying to make the process easier for applicants and the ATF itself. From Guns.com:

What are the proposed changes?  They’re simple, really.  They want to accept electronic payments to pay the transfer tax by credit or debit card.  They also want to reduce redundancy by combing information currently captured on another form.  And they want to change the size of the form itself to 8.5 x 14.

Two Intruders Shot Dead In Houston

From Tea Party Economist:

This is the kind of welcome that should greet all such intruders in America, every time. It should greet all such intruders, all over the world, every time. If there were more greetings like this, there would be fewer intruders like this.

AR-15: More Than A Gun

From WNCW:

There’s a lot of name-calling in the gun control debate. Gun control advocates are slammed as elitist, urban liberals who want to take everyone’s guns away. Gun rights people are accused of being paranoid rednecks who think the government is out to get them. And then there are the special labels reserved for people who love their assault rifles.
