Be Prepared, Be Armed
From Breitbart:
You cannot choose where evil will strike, you can only choose to be prepared when it does. And being armed is part of being prepared.
Gun Owners Should Know First Aid
From Guns.com:
“No one is immune to the possibility of something bad happening,†Dr. Alton told Guns.com. “It just makes common sense to have some ability to deal with the injuries that might happen in times of trouble.â€
Despite ample training opportunities available through various organizations in the U.S., many gun owners simply aren’t qualified to handle even the most basic first aid needs. From injuries accrued due to slide bite or jagged metal gun parts to the most serious in the form of gunshot wounds, Dr. Alton emphasized the need for gun owners to move past normalcy bias, realize that the potential dangers they face each and every day and ready themselves by taking part in medical training.
USCCA Gives Free Classes To Religious Orgs
From Bearing Arms:
With the shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh a week ago, it’s clear that not every house of worship has gotten the memo. To that end, the folks at the United States Concealed Carry Association (USCCA) have a proposal. They’re offering free training to protect our houses of worship.

From The Federalist:
Kellie Collins, a former congressional candidate in Georgia’s 10th District, was charged with the murder of her former campaign treasurer, Curtis Cain. The allegations of murder follow Collins’ advocacy for “responsible†gun control laws during her campaign. WSB-TV reports that she argued for stricter legislation “to protect the community.â€
Good Guy With A Gun Stops Gunman
Posted by Brian in News, Threat Watch on 8/Aug/2018 16:37
From Guns.com:
The Titusville Police Department said the incident at Isaac Campbell Park late Saturday afternoon was sparked over a fistfight after which one of the brawlers returned with a gun and started shooting. An armed bystander lawfully carrying a concealed handgun then returned fire and hit the suspect– the only person injured in the event.
What Could Have Been In Toronto Shooting
Posted by Brian in News, Opinion, Threat Watch on 29/Jul/2018 07:11
From FEE.org:
The shooting that took place in Toronto (Canada) on Sunday was, in one way, similar to the aftermath of the terrorist attack in Paris on January 7, 2015. In the latter case, people took smartphone videos of fleeing terrorists shooting at policemen and killing an unarmed one. In Toronto, there were several powerless witnesses, and at least one person, apparently from an apartment overlooking the scene, videoed the killer as he was firing from the sidewalk below. In both cases, if a video taker had had a pistol instead of a smartphone, he could have engaged the killer, at least slowing him down, and saved lives or prevented serious bodily injuries.
USA Today Refers To Pistols And Shotguns As “Less-lethal”
From Bearing Arms:
The attack at a Texas high school Friday echoed the all-too-familiar horrors Americans are accustomed to seeing on the news. But two details set it apart from the list of other recent deadly attacks: explosives and the less-lethal weapons used.
Washington Shooter Allegedly Used 10/22
Posted by Brian in News, Threat Watch on 30/Sep/2016 07:00
From ABC News:
Cetin’s mother helped to identify him from surveillance camera images released by police. The arrest warrant said Cetin allegedly used a Ruger 10-22 that had a 25-round magazine.
This just shows that even if all AR-15s were banned crazy people will just go to the next available gun. Anti-gunners will use these instances to say there is a need to ban more and more guns until they are all banned.
Another Gun Ban Called For After Shooting
Posted by Brian in News, Threat Watch on 14/Jun/2016 17:07
From The Federalist:
It happens like clock work: as soon as there’s a mere whisper of a terrorist attack or a mass shooting, the usual suspects kick in to high gear. Their destination is always the same: a faraway land where a so-called assault weapons ban magically eliminates not only guns but also prevents guns from walking of their own volition, without need of human agency, into crowded places and killing people.
UCLA Shooter Ignored Laws
Posted by Brian in Law, News, Threat Watch on 4/Jun/2016 07:28
From National Review:
As soon as the story hit the news, the usual suspects began cranking themselves up. Americans, they said, need to “do something.†It was time, they argued, for “more laws.†And the NRA? It was, of course, to blame. Forgive me for being a broken record, but I have some questions in response to these reactions: Namely, “what something?â€; “which laws?â€; and “what, specifically, did the NRA do wrong here?†Rolled into one, these congeal into a single, simple inquiry: “What law — specifically — would have prevented yesterday’s shooting?â€
