Police said that they received a 911 call after the shooting from a man claiming they shot someone at the protest who had approached their vehicle and pointed a rifle at them.
Police brought the caller and another individual–who claimed they fired back at the vehicle as it drove away–in for questioning. That person has not yet been identified.
Police confiscated both of the involved person’s handguns, but both individuals have been released. Both had concealed handgun licenses, said police in a press conference on Sunday.

Citizen Stops Mass Shooting

From Bearing Arms:

Village Police Officer Tiger Lee was the first to respond to the scene, but when Nicolai shot at him, Lee couldn’t fire back. That’s because none of the VPO’s in Kewthluk are authorized to carry firearms. Instead, an armed citizen named Casey Thompson was ultimately able to get Nicolai to drop his gun before anyone was hurt.

How To Build A First Aid Kit

From Recoil:

Deciding what to carry in a medical kit is highly dependent on anticipating the injuries and illnesses you may encounter in a given situation. It’s also dependent on the space available for your gear. After all, the space available when partaking in outdoor activities off the beaten path can be quite limited. You must eliminate unnecessary items so that you can carry other essentials. If you carry a gunshot trauma kit on your person or in a range bag, it’s even more essential that the contents remain compact and free of clutter from unnecessary items.

Making New Laws Is Not The Answer

From Reason.com:

Adding its voice to the growing chorus demanding stronger laws targeting politically motivated violence, the FBI Agents Association called on Congress to make domestic terrorism a federal crime. The members of this chorus are, to various degrees, sincere, panicked, and self-serving, but they all have something in common: they’re advocating a very bad idea that’s bound to threaten liberty more than it hampers terrorists.

When To Introduce Guns

From Guns.com:

Working in the gun industry, people often ask me when they should introduce their kids to guns. What I’ve learned over the years teaching my own kids about the subject is that it’s different for every child. Through trial and error, I found that certain lessons help more than others. While introducing shooting to kids early helps, so does taking incremental steps so they learn and appreciate the sport.

Brit Has Gun License Removed For Online Comments

From NRA:

In 2016, UK shooter and popular YouTube gun channel personality Callum Long-Collins told the BBC, “Being British and a firearms owner, it almost feels illegal to have any sort of opinion on using guns for self-defense.” The comments appear to have been proved correct. According to an April 23 article in The Times titled, “Gun licences stripped from shooting activist over YouTube comments,” Long-Collins told the publication that he lost an appeal to have his firearms licenses reinstated with the primary reason being the content of his YouTube page, EnglishShooting.

When Laws Fail, Create More Laws

From The Truth About Guns:

Whenever the massive, expensive, inefficient, rights-impinging jobs programs that operate this country’s gun control bureaucracies fail, the solution is always to enact still more restrictions on law-abiding gun owners. So the Illinois State Police’s failure in issuing the Aurora shooter (a felon) a FOID card now means the rest of the state’s gun owners will have even more hurdles to jump in order to keep and bear arms. Same as it ever was.
