City Bans Semi-Auto Firearms

Rulemakers in the village of Deerfield, Illinois, ​have voted unanimously to ban semi-automatic rifles, along with pistols and shotguns “with certain features.” Deerfield also voted to ban magazines that hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition.

“To enhance our abilities to respond to a major security incident or terrorism attack, we are currently scoping the potential use of a limited allocation of long-arm firearms to better support frontline police,†said an Ashton spokesman.
