This Is What It Has Come To In Some States…

Explain to me how the laws that led to the following video are “common sense”. This is just ridiculous…

California Is Coming For Your Guns

The anti-gun bigots in the state of California continue to propose ludicrous laws that will make it harder for citizens to exercise their rights.

From Reason.com:

The piece detailed the California’s Department of Justice’s APPs (Armed and Prohibited Persons) program that sends armed agents to the doors of Californians “who at one time purchased firearms legally, but have since run afoul of the law.” It’s a first-in-the-nation program by which state officials cross-reference government crime databases. An agent might show up at the door of a person who legally purchased a gun, but was later deemed mentally ill or was convicted of domestic violence.

Get The Hell Out Of California

The elected officials there have bankrupted the state and are now determined to prevent the people from protecting themselves.

From The Daily Caller:

California gun owners and sportsmen are quickly running out of time to contact your state legislators and stop draconian legislation from passing in Sacramento.  With both the state Senate and Assembly now back to work, anti-gun legislators are moving fast to build momentum to railroad passage of severe anti-gun legislation.

California Grandma Uses Gun to Stop Intruder

From Fox News:

Jan Cooper, of Anaheim, fired one shot from her .357-magnum Smith & Wesson revolver around 12:30 a.m. Sunday as a man attempted to break into her home. During a 911 call of the incident, Cooper can be heard begging with the dispatcher to send deputies and warns that she has a gun at the ready as her Rottweiler barks furiously in the background.

Mother Jones: How To Build Your Own AK

Mother Jones is trying to scare people by publishing an article on the legal practice of building an un-serialized rifle for personal use.

And because we’re assembling the guns for our own “personal use,” whatever that may entail, we’re not required to stamp in serial numbers. These rifles are totally untraceable, and even under California’s stringent assault weapons ban, that’s perfectly within the law.

Gun Confiscation in California

I thought they said that would never happen in America. Reason.com has the scoop on California’s gun registry-turned-confiscation. This is why the people don’t trust the government, and yet the gun-grabbers have the audacity to call us “crazy”, “paranoid”, etc. It is happening right now.

In a state facing over $34 billion in debt, Gov. Jerry Brown signs a bill spending $24 million on literally going after guns bought legally by people who later entered a status that the government thinks should bar them from a key tool for the basic human right of self-defense.

Gun Sales Surging in Nevada Due to Californians

From Guns.com:

“There’s no law that tells me I can’t sell to someone from California,” said a Nevada resident who declined to give his name. “It’s not on me if they drive over to the communist side with this thing. It’s on them.”

Shield Tactical Moves To Texas From California

They have chosen Shiner, Texas as their new home.

Shield Tactical sells just about every firearm option that’s available and also provides training services. Here’s their sale page. Thanks in no small part to the Obama-Feinstein rush against the Second Amendment, business is rolling pretty well for Shield.

More Insanity From the “Gun Ban” State

Democrats (surprise!) in the California state legislature want to make a law to restrict the purchasing of ammo. They also want a law to force the reporting of any purchase over a thousand rounds, to the federal government. You can find the text of the law here.  More info on the idiots who proposed the legislation here.

Would anyone let this happen if they were proposing such restrictions on speech? The only time a person can be charged on what they say is when it is blatantly obvious that the person acted recklessly and negligently. That is exactly what happened in Colorado only the perpetrator used weapons. The tool should not be the focus of the crime, but the manner in which the tool was used. If someone is murdered with a butcher knife, we don’t try to ban knives, we punish the person for murder. We don’t try to ban alcohol (we tried that once) when a drunk driver kills someone, again we punish them because they were negligent. The busy bodies in government should focus on people and personal responsibility, not the inanimate objects that the people use.

Gun Legislation In Progress

  • URGE GOVERNOR’S OFFICE TO VETO SB 1315 . . . NSSF is urging all California sportsmen, retailers and firearm owners to contact Gov. Brown’s office and urge him to veto SB 1315, which would repeal the current state preemption over local laws affecting the manufacture, sale, possession or use of Airsoft, BB or pellet guns in the County of Los Angeles and in any city located within the county. SB 1315 would allow each local government to adopt its own different local ordinances and set a dangerous precedent that could spread to the rest of the state and to all firearms as well. Please contact the governor and urge him to veto SB 1315.

  • PRO-GUN REFORM LEGISLATION MOVING IN MICHIGAN . . . Last week, the Michigan Senate Judiciary Committee approved legislation to repeal Michigan’s “permit-to-purchase” (HB 5225) and the state’s registration requirement for handguns. HB 5225, along with companion bills HB 5498 and HB 5499, seeks to make substantive changes that will benefit federally licensed retailers and their customers. NSSF is urging you to please begin contacting your state senator and ask him or her to support HB 5225, 5498 and 5499.

California Tries to Ban More Guns

From NRA-ILA:

Senate Bill 249, as amended, would make a small but profound change to the definition in state law of what constitutes a detachable magazine for a semi-automatic firearm.  By doing so, as many as one million semi-automatic rifles (with a “bullet button” or other magazine locking device), which were legally sold in California over the last twelve years, would become illegal on July 1, 2013.  If you’re one of the hundreds-of-thousands of Californians who purchased one of these modern sporting rifles (a centerfire semi-automatic rifle with a magazine locking device that prevents detachment of the magazine without a bullet or tool) since 2000, your firearm will have to be surrendered or may be confiscated.
