Kentucky To Consider Red Flag Laws

On Friday, November 22nd, the Kentucky state Interim Joint Committee on Judiciary will consider so called “red-flag laws.†Though no legislation has been introduced, such laws usually allow for Second Amendment rights to be suspended and firearms seized without due process. Please contact leadership of the General Assembly, as well as the committee, and urge them to oppose these firearm confiscation schemes.
Stag Arms Moves To Wyoming From Connecticut

Stag’s Board of Directors today announced that Chad Larsen has been appointed Stag’s President effective immediately. The Company also announced that it will be relocating to Cheyenne, WY, by the end of the year. In June, the Company disclosed its decision to move from Stag’s former headquarters in New Britain, CT, and accordingly initiated a national search for a new location.
Second Amendment Battle Continues In Courts

In Worman, district court judge William G. Young upheld Massachusetts’ ban not by disputing whether the firearms and magazines in question are “in common use,†but on the notion that semi-automatic rifles are close enough to fully-automatic rifles that they might as well be considered one and the same. That idea originated in the first chapter of a 2003 publication by the anti-gun activist group that in 1988 proposed that gun control activists adopt “assault weapons†as a “new topic†to “strengthen the handgun restriction lobby.†A representative of the group was one of the Democrat witnesses during Democrats’ House Judiciary Committee hearing on “assault weapons†in September. Massachusetts’s Ban On Defensive Firearms

Massachusetts law currently prohibits ownership of “assault weapons,†the statutory definition of which includes the most popular semi-automatic rifles in the country, as well as “copies or duplicates†of any such weapons. As for what that means, your guess is as good as ours. A group of plaintiffs, including two firearm dealers and the Gun Owners’ Action League, challenged the law as an unconstitutional violation of their Second Amendment rights. Unfortunately, both a federal trial judge and appellate court upheld the ban—though they could not agree on why.

Pro Gun Laws Continue To Be Attacked

On today’s Bearing Arms’ Cam & Co. Alan Gottlieb of the Second Amendment Foundation joins the show to talk about the growing threat to firearms preemption laws, which are currently being challenged as part of a coordinated assault by cities and gun control groups around the nation. While these challenges aren’t getting as much attention as Beto O’Rourke’s call for firearms confiscation, Gottlieb says the attacks on preemption pose a real threat to the right to keep and bear arms and shouldn’t be ignored by gun owners, even if they’re not drawing a lot of media attention.
Constitutional Carry In Oklahoma

An Oklahoma County judge on Wednesday afternoon denied an attempt by opponents of Oklahoma’s new permitless carry law to stop the legislation from taking effect on Friday. The last minute legal maneuver was the latest attempt to block the law by State Rep. Jason Lowe, who claimed that the bill authorizing permitless carry violates a state law requiring legislation to deal with a single subject. It’s an argument without merit, and Judge Don Andrews declined to issue an injunction that would stop the law from taking effect.
