No-Nnock Warrant Results In Death Of Officer
From Western Center for Journalism:
On December 19th, a sheriff’s deputy was shot and killed during an attempt to serve a “no knock†warrant near Sommerville, Texas. Just before 6:00 A.M. an 8 member SWAT team broke through the door of Henry Goedrich Magee to serve a warrant which would permit the team to search the mobile home in which Magee and his pregnant girlfriend were living.
How many more police officers have to die before we stop these stupid raids?

Military Surplus For Police But Not For Civilians
Posted by Brian in News, Threat Watch on 30/Nov/2013 08:55
Police departments all over the country are receiving heavily armored MRAPs from the military at the same time the administration is denying the importation of surplus M1 Garands from Korea.
From the AP on police MRAPs:
For police and sheriff’s departments, which have scooped up 165 of the mine-resistant ambush-protected vehicles, or MRAPS, since they became available this summer, the price and the ability to deliver shock and awe while serving warrants or dealing with hostage standoffs was just too good to pass up.

From The Free Thought Project:
What went wrong? In the 19070’s SWAT teams were estimated to be used just a few hundred times per year, now we are looking at over 40,000 military style “knock and announce†police raids a year.
National Police Misconduct Reporting Project
Posted by Brian in News, Threat Watch on 19/Nov/2013 08:33
The CATO Institute runs the National Police Misconduct Reporting Project. It is important to remember that any group, be it police, military or the government is made up of people who are flawed and make mistakes. If men were angels we wouldn’t need laws to govern them.
States Cracking Down On Filming Police
From Gizmodo:
The legal justification for arresting the “shooter” rests on existing wiretapping or eavesdropping laws, with statutes against obstructing law enforcement sometimes cited. Illinois, Massachusetts, and Maryland are among the 12 states in which all parties must consent for a recording to be legal unless, as with TV news crews, it is obvious to all that recording is underway. Since the police do not consent, the camera-wielder can be arrested. Most all-party-consent states also include an exception for recording in public places where “no expectation of privacy exists” (Illinois does not) but in practice this exception is not being recognized.
NC Bill Prohibits Cops From Destroying Guns
From WRAL:
The measure, House Bill 714, says departments may sell or auction weapons, use them for training or otherwise re-purpose them, but they may not destroy a gun if it is legal to own and in good working order.
An Armed Citizenry Is Peace
Posted by Brian in Law, Threat Watch on 30/Jul/2013 08:02
From Daily Reckoning:
The entire criminal justice system depends on legal violence, and gun control is no exception. Somehow, many modern liberals who recognize the problems of using police power against drug users or illegal immigrants, or who show concern that law enforcement employs overbearing force against petty criminals, ignore the reality that gun control fundamentally entails physical coercion against mostly peaceful people.
Lost ATF Gun Kills Police Chief
From LA Times:
A high-powered rifle lost in the ATF’s Fast and Furious controversy was used to kill a Mexican police chief in the state of Jalisco earlier this year, according to internal Department of Justice records, suggesting that weapons from the failed gun-tracking operation have now made it into the hands of violent drug cartels deep inside Mexico.

Cops Denied Service at Restaurant
From Guns.com:
A Prince William County resident named Daryl LaClair was so outraged he wrote a letter to the executives of BW3 at their headquarters in Minnesota complaining about the incident. He also started a public awareness campaign to spread word of the company’s alleged mistreatment of law enforcement.
