US navy to battle swarms of Iranian ‘stealth’ WIG-ships with Laser energy cannons
Posted by Jack Sinclair in News on 5/Oct/2010 01:41
“The US military-industrial complex has unveiled its answer to the much-vaunted “swarm” tactics of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard naval forces, which might see squadrons of “stealth” flying boats and attack craft overwhelming the defences of US warships in the Persian Gulf.
The US Navy will deal with this, apparently, using rapid-firing laser raygun cannons to sweep their swarming enemies from the seas and skies around them.”

Third Attack on NATO Supply Trucks – Four Killed
Posted by Jack Sinclair in News on 5/Oct/2010 01:34
“The destruction of NATO Supply trucks inside Afghanistan continues. One major supply route is blocked by Pakistan.
Monday morning, a NATO convoy delivering fuel to U.S. and NATO troops in Afghanistan, was attacked for the third time. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack and vowed to continue these attacks until all resupply through Pakistan is stopped.
The attack occurred near a border crossing that had been closed by Pakistan in retaliation of a NATO helicopter attack inside Pakistan, which killed three.”

Texas Governor campaigns on border security
Posted by Jack Sinclair in News on 5/Oct/2010 01:08
“During a recent campaign visit to Austin, TX, Texas Governor Rick Perry met President Obama on the tarmac. He requested a few minutes of Obama’s time to discuss border issues.
Obama patted Perry’s shoulder three times and did not accept the letter. An Obama Aid eventually took the letter. The actual meeting lasted about two minutes.
At the time, although there was not much press coverage, Governor was indignant that President Obama would have time to do a campaign job, but was not ready to discuss border issues.
“Texas has spent 230 million dollars for border law enforcement, technology, and aircraft.”
In 2005, Gov. Perry announced a comprehensive border security plan for Texas and awarded $6 million in grants to support Operation Linebacker, an initiative developed by the 16-member Texas Border Sheriff’s Association to deter illegal immigration and prevent border-related crime.
In 2007, Gov. Perry signed legislation to provide $110 million in state funds to amplify border security efforts in 2007, and in 2009 he signed legislation providing an additional $116 million.
“So Texas Rangers, SWAT teams, and military forces can rapidly respond to violence along our border.”
“Until Washington gets serious, Texas will fight to make our border safe.”
The Second Amendement Get Its Due
From Reason Magazine’s October issue:
The invalidation of handgun bans throughout the country, accomplished in the space of two years, was sudden and surprising even to those who have spent decades laying the groundwork. Take Alan Gottlieb, founder and president of the Second Amendment Foundation, which began backing Gura’s various gun lawsuits after Heller. Since founding the SAF in 1974, Gottlieb has been hosting academic conferences, supporting legal scholars and historians, and filing carefully targeted lawsuits in defense of gun rights. Still, he says, “six years ago if you had said [the gun rights community would] see two cases get to the Supreme Court and two victories, I would have said, ‘Not in my lifetime. Maybe in someone else’s.’ â€
This demonstrates that liberty will remain as long as there are paladins who will defend it.
How Obama Thinks
Posted by Brad in Opinion, Threat Watch on 4/Oct/2010 09:31
Forbes Magazine dated September 27, 2010
The President isn’t exactly a socialist. So what’s driving his hostility to private enterprise? Look to his roots.
Recently the London Times reported that the Obama Administration supported the conditional release of Abdel Baset al-Megrahi, the Lockerbie bomber convicted in connection with the deaths of 270 people, mostly Americans. This was an eye-opener because when Scotland released Megrahi from prison and sent him home to Libya in August 2009, the Obama Administration publicly and appropriately complained. The Times, however, obtained a letter the Obama Administration sent to Scotland a week before the event in which it said that releasing Megrahi on “compassionate grounds” was acceptable as long as he was kept in Scotland and would be “far preferable” to sending him back to Libya. Scottish officials interpreted this to mean that U.S. objections to Megrahi’s release were “half-hearted.” They released him to his home country, where he lives today as a free man.
