Gun Owner Stereotype Slowly Fading For Liberal Gun Owners
From CNN:
“They’re really not open to understanding,” Mendez said. Adding that she feels more comfortable discussing her same-sex relationship with friends than her guns. “I definitely am more closeted being a gun owner, for fear of retaliation.”
CNN Uses China To Defend Gun Control
From CNN:
“When my friend told me about the shooting, I thought it was the United States,” one person wrote on the Chinese social media platform Weibo. Another user wrote, “Using a gun to kill people in China? Am I watching an American movie?”
That disbelief widely reflects how rare gun crime is in China — in contrast to it being a daily reality in the US.
The difference is stark when it comes to public safety. Despite being the world’s most populous country, with 1.4 billion residents, China only records a few dozen gun crimes a year. And more broadly, violent crime has continued falling, reaching its lowest level in 20 years in 2020, according to state-run news outlet Xinhua.
Obama Lies To Rape Victim About Guns
During a CNN “townhall” the President told a rape victim that nothing he is proposing is going to make it harder for a citizen to buy a gun:

During the same meeting he said that he wants to make it harder and more expensive to get a gun in order to make sure fewer people have them.
Making guns harder and more expensive to get will have a disproportionate effect on poor people. This is not only an attack on gun buyers but more specifically poor gun buyers. Poor people are usually the ones who need a gun the most because they generally live in a higher crime area. They have a limited amount of purchasing power already. A $25 dollar tax on firearms, like the one Seattle passed, may not seem like a lot of money but it is significant to someone living near or below the poverty line. Making guns more expensive is tantamount to a poll tax only this time it will affect those with less economic advantage rather than those with a different skin color.

In the video, Khalimov claims to have trained with Russian special forces in Moscow as well as American special forces in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. At one point, he boasts about receiving specialized training from U.S. private security contractor, Blackwater in North Carolina.

Anthony Bourdain Talks Sense About Guns
Bourdain has an written a calm article about American gun culture on his personal weblog. He admits that he is a “lefty” and that he likes guns. Why does he like them? Because he has experience with them and it is plain fun. The article is written by a liberal for liberals, to try and slowly nudge them towards the idea that most gun owners are sane. He does a good job of talking about the people and not the object of hatred that gets people so fired up. His article gives me hope that we can find some common ground, it just might take some time.
